  • I was given a quote for front and rear shocks and struts on my car by John. He was nice enough to call me and advise me I also needed an alignment after the work was completed. When I showed up he advised me that he understated my quote, but honored the original one he gave me plus the alignment. He very well could have advised me of the miscalculation earlier in the day.   • Go figure the week before an 3 hour (Round trip) road trip my car informs me that it's Oil Change time! Being the beginning of the month (Rent) and the event I planned on going to is a Bazaar (So money will need to be spent). So I am looking for something cheap and efficient and wont haggle me for any extra details. Plus, the ease of online appointment setting helps me when I am busy at work and I don't just drop in if they're busy (not completely out of my way, but is the opposite direction of home). I went in expecting to pay about $20 and was surprised my bill was less than that. In, out in no time at all (didn't help I was the only customer at the time and the mechanic wasn't busy with anyone previous). There's a strong chance I am coming back in the next 3-5,000 miles.

  • Figured I'd try one more time since the sign said "Under new management". Went in to get a LOF and tire change. I bought the tires there in November and needed them rotated. The kid said he'd "check to see if they needed a rotation". I told him I wanted one, and I was paying for it, so I was pretty sure it needed one. Then after the service he said I'd need new tires by fall because my tires were worn to "3 out of 10". 8,000 miles is how many miles are on those tires. I brought him out to look at them again and he revised his numbers to 9 and 7. That might work on women and idiots. Sad you hire people that try to prey on women and idiots. One of my TPS sensors also never reset and stopped working after the tire change. Talked to the manager about it then and he said it was just bad luck. Or going to that store is bad luck. But I'm not going to Monro anymore, so maybe my luck will change.

  • Walking into this location was a little uneasy for me because I've had some bad experience with the company in general... but this new management is FANTASTIC. I had to have a lot of work done to my car for it to pass state inspection and I was also looking into doing the 90,000 mile tune-up. I was shopping around and comparing prices, so when talking to the new manager, Kevin, I told him I was trying to find the lowest price and he assured me that he would give me a break on price if I do all the work there, which was great! We talked the price through, he gave me a quote and the next day I brought it in to have the work done. When I went to pick it up a day later, more work ended up needing to be done, but he didn't charge me extra for it because he wanted to stay loyal to the price quote he had given me. So we went over everything that was done, and we found that a synthetic oil change was over looked, so Kevin told me I could bring it in the next day and he would take care of it, no extra charge. Overall my experience with this shop and its staff was incredible and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new shop!

With all the employee changes over the last 15 years, I would expect a bad experience once or twice, but it hasn't happened. They have been patient with my schedule and week to week finances. They've explained repairs and allowed me into the bay to see what I need repaired and in order of importance.

  • Had front and rear rotors and pads replaced, and advised to replace entire mid section of exhaust for $2k. After $700 in brake repairs, brought car to another garage for 2nd opinion on exhaust, only to find 1 caliper frozen on new brakes. 2nd garage fixed caliper and exhaust for under $200, and will be taking business there from now on. Monroe doesn't pay enough to hire real mechanics that check their work thoroughly, too many bad experiences for the convenience.
