However, I am irked by the need to use the Drive Card to get discounts you gave before without it. I do not need another credit card and your new rules seem like extortion. Your store people are great but your corporate policies may drive me away (no pun intended). The store would be 5 stars but your corporate office gets a one.

  • Unlike other mechanics I don't feel like the Guilford Monro store pushes unnecessary repairs. They explain work needed and show you the defective parts in need of repair. Mike the store manager is also very accommodating with coupons and helps find the best discounts to use.

  • Guilford Monroe is the best one on the shoreline.They are honest, and make you feel comfortable about your repair service..As a woman, I never worry that they will charge and or do something that I truly did not need, whereas in Clinton Monroe, they are not honest, and they take advantage of females, trying to sell you more then you need.. Mike is the best manager that the Guilford store has ever had..Knows exactly what you need, friendly, and helpful..I would not go to any other Monroe on the shoreline..Kudo's to Mike for making car repairs, oil changes, etc, a pleasant experience.

  • Went in for an oil change that was done pretty quickly. The manager checked my tires as well. He informed me that I would be needing new tires. I didn't feel pressured to do it right then and there and he gave me his recommendation. I truly appreciate the time he took with me and I will be back in a couple weeks for new tires.

  • I had a great experience at the Monro near my work. I ran over after work, expecting them to be a bit sour that I was arriving within an hour of closing time. The gentleman at the desk was so friendly. I got my oil changed, no pressure to add any services at all. They rotated my tires too, which was an unexpected bonus. I had my oil changed, fluids topped off and was out the door within 30 minutes for less than $50. I will be back! Great service.

  • oil change and tire rotation. The wait was long, even though I had an appointment. I asked specifically for a tire rotation, no matter how my tires appeared. The manager said ok. After service, I asked him if they rotated the tires and put the pressure at 33. He said yes. It was a lie. I got another oil change that afternoon on my Hundai, and asked the technician if he rotated my tires and he said no. So I asked the manager to rotate my tires the next day. I came in at 7:30 and still had to wait more than one hour, and the worker was very slow. So I spent a long time at Monroe, was lied to, and had to return the next day to get the job done. NOT Happy.

  • I love Munro. All of our cars have been serviced at Munro for over 10 years. Though employee turnover IS VERY HIGH, I almost ALWAYS receive excellent service. And if I don't, by the time I go back, there is a whole different crew anyway. I prefer to use Munro because I don't feel like I'm being "taken for a ride" The guys there are pretty honest and I don't feel like they try to "sell" me things I don't need. I received an email for an oil change for $19.99. Or $9.99 with a "drive card". So when I arrived for my appointment I asked what that meant. I was told it was Munros new credit card. Since I already have a Munro credit card I didn't think it was fair that I couldn't get that offer. The very nice guy who works there didn't think it was fair either. He did ask me if I wanted to apply for the new card. I said no because I don't need TWO Munro credit cards. So that was that. When my car was finished I came over to pay. I pulled out my Munro credit card to pay my bill. I was VERY upset that the system WOULD NOT ACCEPT IT. He tried EVERYTHING he could to make it go through and the final outcome was that he just couldn't take it because it is NO LONGER VALID. He told me again that I could apply for the new one. I declined. As far as I know, I never received any communication that you were doing away with my card. I am still paying a $700.00 balance on work I had done over a year ago. I make all my payments on time and I've never been late. This really upsets me because as we all know, times are tough and it has always given me piece of mind that if the cars do break, I have the security of that card in my pocket. I was able to pay for my $20 something oil change. But what if I had bought my car in for a $500 repair and they wouldn't take the card? Then what? I also find it not right that my outstanding balance and my open credit can just not be switched over to the new "drive card" I don't think any of this is right and I don't think i will come back.

  • I had left a poor review of my experience about a week ago. It was never an issue of a lack of professionalism as much as it was of situational frustration. In the end I feel that their balance machine was out of calibration, not allowing my tires to be properly balanced. After my review I was contacted very promptly and asked what could be done to better my experience. I wasn't expecting that at all! I thank Monroe for righting my situation.
