  • I had a PHENOMENAL experience here. Firstly, the two gentlemen who were busy handling other customers' concerns took time out of their busy day to squeeze me in. What started as just a bulb replacement turned into a much needed series of jumps that my car's battery required. I was very grateful for both of them to assist me despite the fact that they were very clearly busy enough as it was. They both were very kind and clearly explained what the issues were with my car (there some other issues to contend with). I was really, really impressed by the entire experience.

  • On Saturday, December 23rd, I had a 9am appointment for an oil change at the 1640 Post Road, Warwick, RI Monro location. I chose to drop off my car as it was Christmas weekend and would be able to spend my time more productively than sitting in a wait room. My family has used this location for various reasons for over a decade as initially the customer service was impeccable. Unfortunately over the years, the customer service has dwindled but we continued to utilize this location as it was convenient. This has all changed after the appointment on Saturday. I dropped my car off for 9am and after not receiving a phone call that the oil change was completed by 3:30pm, I stopped by thinking they must have forgotten to call. When I went into the shop the individual I spoke with had to ask the mechanic the status despite my key being the only key on the board behind the desk. He came back and say "I apologize but it is going to be next day" I explained I had a 9am appointment for an oil change. I asked if I was forgotten as an oil change is something that should not take more than 1 hour and he replied "no" that they "had a lot of walk-ins and people waiting for their cars" and since my was dropped off, "they are seen first". I asked if I had just waited with my car at 9am if it would have been done right then and there and he nodded his head in agreement. The shop did not close until 6pm which would have given him an hour and a half to complete my oil change but this was not even offered. I took my car back as my family was going out of state the next day. Not to mention a 2 day oil change is laughable. Right next door to this location is a Valvoline that has oil changed in 20 minutes for a few dollars more. My take away from this experience is that Monro has no customer loyalty, if you drop your car off, you have no idea how long they will have it and their customer services is extremely poor. Thanks for wasting my time.

  • First time customer. I usually do my own oil changes. I am new to the area, and on this morning I was in a rush. The gentlemen here did a great job in making sure it was done in a timely manner. As they brought the vehicle in, I mentioned my concern about a squeaky belt. They promptly gave me a quote for the repairs while I waited for the oil change. We talked about a few maintenance items the vehicle needs. I need to replace a couple tires, etc. Overall a good job. I will likely go back for them to replace my belt.

  • I visited the Post Rd Warwick RI location to have my oil changed but they were busy, the guy said that if I could come back at 11:00 he could change it. I had a busy schedule and said I'll try on-line. Didn't have time so on way to my errands I stopped at two location, Newport Ave was short handed only one guy there, taken care of customer service and service the cars. The other location off Broadway Way was busy and said I needed to schedule it on-line and he didn't have anything til next week. I really needed to get my oil changed and it was my day off. well back to Post Rd and the guy was able to change my oil. Do I need to schedule my oil change on-line? in the past I've drove in and service was available.

  • I went to the shop at the recommendation of my oil change place because my low tire pressure signal kept coming on. They were very busy when I arrived but still did a quick look at my tire. When I asked if I go run some errands and come back at a set time, then gladly agreed. When I returned, they discovered the nail that wasn't in one of my tires. They also explained that I needed to renew my vehicle inspection and answered all of my questions. I was in a very tough place personally and financially, but they put me more at ease by explaining the warranty on the tires, showing me the nail, telling me how to maintain certain aspects of my car, and more! The staff maintained pleasant and personal conversation with me while the work was being completed, and even though it was the very end of the day (I walked out as they did and locked the door), I never felt rushed or like I was a burden to them. I do plan to return to this location of Monro in the future.

They always call to verify work to be done before they do it with price estimates. They are very accommodating with vehicle pick-ups.   • The person taking my information at the desk was very nice and professional but the mechanic who was sitting on the couch playing on his phone seemed like he rather sit on the couch than actually do work. I was in for an inspection and had mentioned that my instrument cluster had a loose connection and would sometimes cut out. The man taking my info said it shouldn't be a problem. The lazy guy on the couch kept making comments about having to fail it if he couldn't read the odometer. I stated that it would only cut out for a few seconds and come right back on. After his third comment, I was convinced that he had his mind made up that he was going to fail it so I left and had my car inspected somewhere else and it passed without any problems.

  • I shopped around online and found an amazing coupon for your Brakes Forever package. When I showed the coupon to John at your shop he stated that he hates that coupon because they base it on the cheapest car they can find. I never agreed to not get the Brakes Forever package. I was charged for premium brakes and did not receive the Brakes Forever package (which I didn't know until after I got home). I paid almost $100 more than expected, and can't get free replacements. I traveled far to frequent your establishment just to be girl taxed. I am so disappointed and have no recourse.

  • I have been going there for over 5 years they must have recently changed up ownership . I recently bought a new car they are the only shop that have changed the oil . driving home after an oil change noticed plastic underneath the car was hitting the tire and making a loud noise called the shop told them that they broke the plastic underneath the car which was all cracked and broken and they denied it was that it was them. now it's a new car and they are the only ones who ever worked on it the only way that possibly could have been broken is by somebody who had no idea what they were doing at there shop . not only do they do a terrible job and break your car they're Liars. so I went out and brought the plastic piece that goes underneath the car. thank God for eBay got the part for $15 I put it on myself don't want these people ever touching my car again. so my recommendation if you want to keep your car in one piece and not pay extra for repairs that you have to get done after they work on it don't go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But they charge for every little thing. Also, last time I was there, the serviceman pulled up my emergency break so high it was jammed. It makes me wonder about the quality of their work.

  • I am posting this review late because i have been so busy lately. I went in for an oil change on April 15, 2017 and after waiting over 2 hours for my car i gave a quick call to ask when my car would be ready and the guy i talked to (not sure of his name) was rude to me and said they have alot of cars and hung up on me (My appt. was for 9 am and i called about 11:30 am as my boyfriend had an oil change here a couple of days before and only waited 45 minutes). After i picked up my car and left the lot there was smoke coming from the back of my car. I called Flood ford because i have a warranty with them and was not sure of the cause but flood ford told me that they overfilled the oil so much that that was the reason for the smoke and they did another oil change for me which took care of the problem. I have been going here for years and have loved coming here but it seems that since Sam left it has really not been the same but this is the first problem that i have ever had with munro so am disappointed.

  • Customer service/care needs work. Went for an inspection, need new stabilizer links. Not a big deal, but they wanted to charge me over two hundred for a twenty dollar part that is not hard to replace. Informed the generalman at the counter that I would do it myself. He proceed to ingnor me and go see if they have the parts in stock. I repeated to him to fail the inspection, and if we could reschedule the inspection for in a week. He looked at me with disgust and walked into the garage tell the mechanic to fail it. I then had to wait 40 minutes for them to bring the car out. The man at the counter never stated I was all set, never confirmed the appointment to come back either. Still receiving two stars because I have been there many times and had never been treated that way.

  • I am very dissatisfied with the service I received, and will not be using Monroe again. I do not believe that I was treated honestly, and believe that they lied and then tried to take advantage of me. I had scheduled a 12:00pm appointment for an oil change and a state inspection. I dropped the car off at 11:00am, and by 3:00pm still had not heard anything about the car. I called, and was told that they were "looking at it right then." My wife drove me by the store at about 3:15, and I saw the car was NOT being worked on, and was in fact in the same parking spot as before. I went up to the car and saw the old vehicle inspection sticker, AND the old oil change sticker were still in the window. Still no callback by 4pm, so I returned to the store, where I the car was STILL in the original parking spot, still with the old stickers on the window. The rep at the desk saw me in the parking lot, and as soon as I went into the store, he told me that the car was inspected, the oil was changed, but said that they had a problem with the machine that prints the inspection stickers, so it wasn't ready. I offered to return the next day for the sticker, but he hemmed and hawed, and asked me to come back in half an hour, as they were "rebooting the system." I left to run another errand, and then got a call at about 4:40, in which I was shocked to hear that there was "a miscommunication," that my car failed inspection, and had bad shocks that needed to be replaced. This was after being told 40 minutes earlier that it was "all ready to go" and just needed a sticker. Considering the suspicious way I had been dealt with already that day, I declined the service, paid for the oil change, and retrieved my car. Two days later I took it to another shop for a new inspection, and was told that the shocks were "just fine." I am glad I didn't drop the $400 on unnecessary new shocks, and will NEVER be using Monroe again.

  • I used to have all my repairs done at Monro. The last few times I have been there, I have seen different people working there. I am not happy with the service any more. I had work done in July and again in November. I was told that I needed a serpentine belt and the estimate I got was for $173.99. I went to another service station and they gave me a price of $90-$100.00. I also had my neighbor warn me about going to Monro - he was not satisfied with the service he received.

I would not hesitate to go back for future car repair needs. I have and do highly recommend their courtesy, kindness, professionalism, honesty, explanations and just being a very up-front experience that when you leave you feel you got a job well done for what you paid. Jacob is A1 at his job of vehicle repairing from my experience. I liked how honest he was when I stated he could get an item out of my vehicle and he was totally respectful in stating he'd feel better if I would. Ethics matter - he's a great guy. And he always has a smile. That's very much appreciated! And hard to do at times I'd think in vehicle repair that can sometimes frustrate. So a huge Thank You to a service with a smile oriented station that can be trusted to do a good job at a fair price.

The oil change was done in under an hour (in the past I've waited for over 2 hours despite having an appointment) and the source of the vibrations were found and corrected. The essence of my letter was that I was made to wait 4 hours because no one thought to inform me that a spare part had to be delivered to my facility. This was even after I asked the manager several times how much longer the work would take. The lack of communication and consideration for my time, plus the failure to offer a discount to remedy my frustration and compensate me for my time, were unacceptable.
