  • I went to shillington road branch of Monroe and I was only there to have my tires balanced and aligned. this process took about 4 hours on the first day I took it in. I left the shop in the middle of a snow storm that night. on my way home I noticed my wheel felt worse than before I took it in. I called up the shop and they agreed to take another look at the car. the next day I take the car in, and later on I get some bad news, so I have to go out and buy another new tire for my car when I had just gotten the 2 that were being checked out. I go out, I buy ANOTHER tire and go back to have it checked for a third time, this time it took around 6 hours or so. now the car feels okay but I am not happy with the amount of time it took and while I was there I could see the Techs were a little rowdy and I think they were messing around while working and taking their time.

  • They replaced the 2 front tires and resurfaced the rotors. Also replaced the brake pads on the rear wheels. Also balanced the tires. We drove the vehicle for 15 miles and started hearing a screeching noise in the front left tire. When we stopped our car the front left hub cqp ,rim and rotor were hot. The next day as we were taking it back to Monroe Muffler, we were backing out of our driveway and a wheel weight fell onto our driveway. It was probably causing the screeching due to the fact that it was severely scored and had the appearance of heated up metal.

  • The most affordable shop in the area, and mechanic I worked with was very nice. However the timing was extremely long and consistently changed. Originally what was supposed to be a one day job turned into a drop off at 7:30am and they didn’t even start working on it until 11am and then the next day it was supposed to be done in the afternoon I called at 7pm and they were still working on it! Crazy wait times that really hinder my day.

  • My car had a flat tire and I was pumping air into it once a week. I decided to bring it into Monroe to get the tire patched. Before coming in to have my car serviced I filled the tire with air. The mechanics serviced my car and I was on my way. The next day I washed my car and noticed the tire that had been serviced was missing one of it's lugs. I also noticed that the patching compound used to fix the tire was left on rim of the wheel. I then contacted the garage and the manager told me that the lug was missing before I had my car serviced and that the compound came off easy. He offer to clean it if I came back. Before I drove my car again I wanted to replace the lung nut. When I tried to install it I found that the stud was also stripped. Since I had inspected the tire when filling it and did not notice it missing and that the stud was stripped. I believe that it had been stripped when the mechanic used the air tool on the wheel. Since I was upset with my service I contacted customer service who got me in contact with the local customer service representative. He asked that I email receipts as proof of the work I did on the car to fix the issue. I did that and have since not heard back. It's been almost a week.

  • The price & job is very good for the price. However you will wait depending on the cars issue. I had a problem with the cars lug nuts being tightened to tight so it had to be taken back & 5 lug nuts had to be replaced 2 had to be drilled out, they drove me home & made good on it. They had a special I took advantage of for inspection so it made up for it. Over all manager very good knows what he's doing. Pay needs to be increased to keep there people. Experience doesn't seem important. 1 year experience is tops in the shop.

If you must do it make it a reasonable difference like $3 to $5. That will more than cover your expense of my using another card.

As a woman, I do not know everything about cars and what needs to be done but I feel comfortable and trusting of Monroe because they tell me what they think is best for my car but never pressures me to go with anything.   • My brakes seemed fine, but during my state inspection, they told me the rear ones needed replacing the the front ones were close to being needed too. I told them to go ahead and $500 later, they were done. Now they make a knocking sound when I use them and they seem less effective than before. I took the truck back and they said the noise was normal but they would give me a discount to have them done again!!

  • My van got a flat late Saturday night and I was told by tire repair guy I had radiator hose, I ended up at this Monro center with a radiator hose and clamps in hand at 845am Sunday waiting for them to open...The manager Dave told me to hold tight and he would squeeze me in...which eventually he did...only to find out it wasn't a hose that was bad but something else...a water pump intake pipe connected to the lower radiator he found a new pipe and had it picked up and installed it along with new hose...and guess what...I was still leaking...After further investigation we realize the water pump was damaged by the tire blowing out so he orders a water pump and gets it picked up...and he tells me our best technician is out today bc it is Sunday so this might take a while but he will oversee the entire is now 1130am...Now, if you are thinking I was taken advantage of by the hose and pipe installation that wasn't the cause you are wrong...the hose was beat up and the pipe rusted....and the water pump was visibly leaking...I drive a 2004 dodge grand caravan with 193k miles on it...the water pump requires automotive surgery to get, they finally get it out...and then the process of putting back on begins...and don't forget the serpentine belt and pulleys need to be, I wait and wait and wait...and this guy named Nick who is the technician is working his butt off...filthy dirty from fluids and grease....just working and working...with the help of his co worker...and I am in need of a break so, I leave to have lunch...Dave says he'll call me when is now 115pm...At 230 I call and Dave says...not yet he'll call me...At 330 I return and Nick has everything installed except the pulley and the belt...Well, that pulley and belt took another 2 hours of work to install, now it is 545 and they are almost done...I get out at 615 and pick up my family and drive home to Baltimore...happy ending!

  • Normally I have good experiences, except for this time. I received the services as expected and the staff was friendly like always. I made an appointment for Thursday evening at 6:30. Once the appointment was approved, I was called up saying that they would not be able to complete everything I needed done that evening. They asked if I could just drop it off and it would be completed the next day. I knew that I had to work the following day (Friday), so I was concerned as to when it would be completed. They stated that it would be completed around 9. That time was acceptable for me. Come the Friday, when my car is being worked on. It had reached about 10:30 and hadn't heard anything about my car. So I called the store up, they stated that they haven't even started working on it because there were a bunch of cars before mine. The call that confirmed that my car was completed occurred at 5 pm.

  • Had a first AM appt n agreed for pick up at my break betw 2 n 3 but when i called it wasn't even looked at yet!! 3x i called n 2x on another day and put on hold n then told to wait fpr call back bc they were busy n had line in lobby...waited over 2 hrs for call back n once i recalled and was reminded that i would get a call back later-i had waited over 30 min before i called back. I can appreciate busy but it seems like more staff on hand, esp in lobby might be helpful.   • I would like to start by saying I know nothing about cars. I took my car in for an oil change and they told me I needed new front struts so I told them to put them on. I called my friend who than told me if my car wasn't making any noise it wasn't needed and it is never a safety concern. My car was not making any noise. They just went for a money grab. By the time I called them to tell them I didn't want this done "they had already started." To make matters worse when I got my car back there were grease stains on the cloth interior on both front doors and on the front seats. All the stains were damp so they had attempted to clean them. When I questioned them they said "I wouldn't be able to see it once it dried." That was a lie. Stains are still there.

  • 1) Dropped off vehicle at 9AM for inspection and oil change, store closed at 5. Called at 315PM to check on it and was advised it was being worked on and would be called shortly. No call, so arrived at store at 450PM, finally was able to depart at 610PM, and the car needed nothing for inspection. 2) Manager tried to sell me everything imaginable, despite everything passing inspection. 3) Vehicle is 10 years old and have always used same grade of oil as per maintenance guide, most changes at this location. Now Manager advises me that oil is not really recommended by Toyota. naturally need the more expensive variety. 4) When last at same store for oil change on another vehicle, mentioned was getting it inspected elsewhere later in the week due to free inspection. Same Manager advised that Munro price was less for inspection and emissions, that dealer would charge for emissions. Well cost from dealer was $40 for emissions. Munro price for inspect/emissions was considerable higher despite managers claims. I have used Muntro for all our vehicles for many years, time to move on

  • I expected a quick fix for a flat tire or at most to replace it. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, not Monroe Mufflers fault. So the desk person I dealt with was friendly and a good communicator. The entire cost which was $300 was more than I had. Monroe graciously kept the tire for a few days until I got paid, since inspection is soon he also told me what was needed.

The did a great job on the alignment. car drives like new. Did a great job on the exhaust as well, however the cost of the exhaust from Monroe is considerably higher then a few other local shops. But no complaints about the work done. Good price for the alignment and quality of work would have me back. Would recommend this shop to others.

  • Made an appointment to have my Car Inspected and oil change for Saturday 4/8/17 @ 11:30am. Was told to drop the car off earlier to give them time to complete it by the appointment time, so I dropped it off at 9:30-10am that day. 2:30pm rolls around and I haven't heard form them, so I gave them a call for a status update, but no update was available (they did not start my car). So I let it go, called back at 5pm to check on the status of my car and was told that it's being worked on, all that was left was the inspection on the breaks, so I left my house and got to the place at 5:30 thinking it should be done shortly. When I got there, I saw that the car was on the lift but it wasn't being worked on, so I stayed there till 6:45pm to watch them work on my car. I saw everything from changing the oil to the inspection. So they lied to me the whole time and did not start on my car until I got there. I was very unhappy with the service.

Driving over 25 miles home, I heard this loud tapping noise. Come to find out.. Only one lug nut out of 5 on each of my two new tires was actually tightened. I could have been in an accident due to their negligence.

  • The two men working the day I was in were both friendly, informative, and did not rake me over the coals. They were honest with their opinions and really helped me get a lot of stuff done that needed to be done to my car in a reasonable amount of time and for that I am grateful! I've seen this shop go through a lot of different managers over the last two years, but Dave seems to be a great fit and I'm glad he is there now! Highly recommend this shop for honest service.

  • Had an issue with my car, where I thought the battery was dead. I went to another place and bought a battery and had it installed and the car still would not start. Matter of fact, it did nothing. So I called Monro and they said to get it there and they would diagnose my problem. They even offered up a few towing services that they used. To make a long story short, I got the car towed there, and the mechanics found that I had a bad starter, and that the battery which I had just purchased was an old one and was dead. The service manager was very helpful in explaining to me how the battery wouldn't be any good. I was very pleased with the service that I received at Monro.

  • Brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change on a Saturday, then had to immediately bring it back, because the Check Engine light came on as I was driving home. Diagnostic check indicated no oil pressure. Visual follow-up revealed a cracked filter housing. Had to leave the vehicle overnight for two days until a replacement part arrived on Monday. Problem was properly corrected, and at no charge to me, aside from the inconvenience of not having my vehicle for the weekend or to get to work Monday.
