  • I have a 2014 Ford F-150 with 45000 miles on it. I had it to the dealer several times and the said it was a normal condition. I got sick of it. A buddy of mine said to go to Monro in Pottsville and let a Tech there by the name of Grubby. He said that he can figure anything out. So I made an appointment and after I got my truck back and drove it, I can't believe it. The problem was solved. I went back to Monro and spoke with Grubby. Told him about the dealerships and I gave him a $100. I'm a new customer now and I'll be sure to pass the word around for complicated issues to go to the Pottsville Monro and see Grubby.

  • I've been coming here for years for maintenance and state inspections. Until now things have been satisfactory or above. I was not feeling very confident with the way my inspection was handled in May. The technicians had difficulty navigating the computer system. It took longer to input the results than the entire inspection took. They explained nothing, I was overdue for an oil change, they didn't ask nor did I want to wait any longer for them to fiddle with the computer. Today I was finally able to get in for an oil change (delay was my own fault) I was told my front brakes are in bad condition. I know from experience that brakes do not go bad overnight, but had they said something at inspection I would have been prepared to take care of it sooner. As a woman, I depend on my mechanic to give me a heads up about these things. When I needed rear brakes, a former employee made sure to remind me that I would be needing these soon. And I did have them replaced at this location . I hear he has moved to your Reading location. What a loss for this location. I'm not sure that I will come back to this location. It took an hour to change my oil, I had an appointment.

  • I took my car to Monro for inspection and an oil change. They did the oil change and told me an abundance of things that needed to be fixed before it would pass inspection. I declined having the issues fixed there. Two weeks down the road while away at school I notice my car smoking. I had to go get two new oil sensors because mine were ruined because Monro overflowed my oil tank. Way too much oil even two weeks after the oil change. Not only are prices there outrageous but then I had to spend 48 more dollars because they overflowed the tank so much that it was spilling oil all over under the hood of my car which caused the smoking. I will never go here again.

  • I went to Monro for an oil change and state inspection and of course more was needed than I expected. However, the prices in my opinion for parts and labor were outrageous. Last year I went to Firestone and my car needed things to pass inspection. We took it home fixed what needed to be took it back to Firestone and they put the sticker on without charging me again for the inspection. Monro tried to charge me twice for the state inspection. Also I took the car and had most of the things fixed on the car and the labor was nowhere near the amount I was being charged at Monro. Just disappointed in my experience and the pricing.

  • I had to visit my local shop twice last week regarding the same issue with my LR wheel bearing. The brake would lock up, overheating the drum and the brake fluid, making me need to press my brake pedal to the floor and damaging the bearing. The problem reoccurred again today, meaning I'll have to take my car in for a third time tomorrow morning and leave it this time. Even though my issue has been frustrating and nerve-wracking, the manager and techs themselves have been nothing but patient, friendly, and as thorough as one could be in attempting to assess the root of my issue.

The technicians seemed to have trouble navigating the computer. Which took longer than the actual inspection.   • Took my car in for a sound when turning right. They replaced brakes, differential and sound is still exactly same. They new that, but still charged me $900 and told me to complain to corporate if sound continues because they needed to get paid for the work they did. Although the work was a result of misdiagnosis, I was charged $900 for absolutely nothing. Taking the car to be fixed at a new place, paying additional to get it fixed right. Regional Manager promised car is all fixed, but nothing was done, except me being charged the $900. I don't want anything except to warn folks not to have my experience.

  • I went here to get my oil changed and an alignment on my car. They told me that my car was possibly hit from the rear end previously and the alignment wouldn't take full effect. After taking my car back to my dealer, I found out that I had a broken balljoint joint which would effect my alignment. I was never told about this from Monroe. You can't do an alignment with a broken balljoint joint. They also failed to tell me that my tires are bad and wouldn't pass inspection even though they had to take them off. I will never again go here.
