I was also told they do a price match guarantee and that has also been a waste of effort as no refund was ever given after Pep Boys quoted a lower price. I was never even contacted after I visited store numerous times.

  • I would have given 5 stars except that the last time I was in, my lugnuts were tightened so tight that I would never have been able to break them loose without an impact wrench. I found this out when I went to put new lugnuts on the car. Also, one of the studs was stripped beyond repair. I know this could happen to anyone at any time. But if a wheel is tightened to the specified torque, this would minimize the chances. Otherwise I get great service from these guys.

  • In short, I called Sunday and got in first thing Monday. The folks at the shop recognized the urgency that I had to get to work and they only needed the car from 7:30 - 10:00 for rotors, brakes, and the brake fluid flush. I typically do this myself but the bolt holding the caliper bracket was seized and I couldn't get it loose; first time ever fro me. I needed to get this corrected ASAP because my brakes were due and I was stuck. They took care of it quickly.

  • I had a coupon for a synthetic blend oil change for 24.99 with drive card which I have. I was charged a total of $37 and some change when I asked why I was told that the oil change was $29.99 and my vehicle used an extra quart of oil plus disposal fees. I am still not sure how it was $29.99 when the coupon said $24.99 and even then the cost of the extra quart of oil and disposal fees would have been $13 that is half the price of what the oil change cost. Second I was told that they used a synthetic blend and that is what is on my receipt however, the sticker on the windshield is clearly marked as premium conventional oil and not synthetic blend. So this is now the second time I am left wondering what exactly if anything was done to my vehicle. I use this place due to the convenience of where I work and so do a few of my coworkers but I'm not sure that any of will be returning after the last two experiences that I have had.

  • The folks at Monro were able to diagnose and fix the muffler issue on my Nissan Cube as a 'drop-in' customer. They were professional and timely and I very much appreciate that since I was on my way out of town for the weekend. Thanks to them, I was able to start on the same day (as planned), just a few hours late without having to worry if my muffler would fall apart before I reached my destination. I stopped at the dealer and he said that they couldn't have fixed this problem "on the spot" or without replacing the entire exhaust system. I am grateful that Monro was honest with me and replaced only the necessary parts. Great job and THANK YOU!! I'll be coming back.

  • I came to Monroe for an oil change and a state inspection. I was told my brakes would not pass inspection and that I needed new rotars and pads and repairs would cost close to $1000.00. I paid for the oil change and the failed inspection and took my car to a local reputable car repair garage planning to have the work done for considerable less money. To my surprise I was told that in fact my car did not need new rotars and brake pads and that it passed inspection.. I was very disappointed to learn that I could not trust the report given at the Monroe garage since I regularly took my car there for oil changes. Lesson learned, never again..

  • Went in for oil change and tire rotation. Upon picking vehicle up right at closing time when all mechanics where gone. I noticed that the tires had not been rotated and when mentioning this I was told they were . However I have had issues in the past with other companies not doing this either so I mark the wheels so I can tell if rotated or not. So my question now is if the tires were not done and I was told they were how do I know that the oil change was completed?

  • Came in for a state inspection. The inspection person told me I needed a new Muffler as the bracket on the back exhaust was rusted off and there was a small hole in my muffler where the bracket attached. They did not pass my care and gave me a quote of $875 + Tax and "SHOP FEE" which would have brought me total to around $967.50. They did not have the parts so I left and I decided to get a second opinion. Went to the Pep Boys across the street and they gave me estimate of $550. Brought the estimate back to the Manager and ask him if he could match the price and he said to go and do it at Pepp Boys told me that I would probably be back with a issue later on. Interesting comment - It bothered me so I got a third estimate at the local Firestone. Their estimate was $538 and I have them do the work - Their final cost was $528. Very Happy with the work. Your estimates included 2.5 - 3hrs for the work the other two quoted only an hour and Firestone came in under that. I am sharing this as I love the guys at the Monro shop but the job came i $439 less than what was quoted at Monro. This is a huge difference. I will continue to use Monro but the lesson I have learned from this experience is that I will now have to second guess any estimates from your shop.

  • These folks turned around a tire rotation and oil change in less than an hour AND inspected the truck even though that wasn't on the appointment (I never realised it expired until they told me). Super fast and going beyond the call of duty instead of just doing what was scheduled and letting me leave with an expired inspection. We go there regularly now for everything included Ng my wife's car. Give them a chance - you won't regret it!

  • Had 700 dollars of work done in oct .. but my wheel bearing blew out .. called cause i knew i had 1 yr warranty and was given a rum around .. first it was i only had 90 days ,then i was told dont know when tbey could get to it cause mr. GIUSTO was short handed and 10 cars deep .. i think 5 total in lot .. soo went back with another mechanic (female ) thats beem doing for 18 yrs at glenshaw auto .. and talked again to them and ohh because he was told by her lol then he racked and replaced cause i was right blown and replaced cause ohhh it had 1yr warranty wow guess i was just another female that didnt know nothing ... the only ! Reason i wemt there and trusted them was my machinic was om the hospital with dieing husband of cancer .... i know better now ill wait out my problem ...

  • Took our van in for front brakes and a state inspection. We were then given a quote that was much higher than one that was given on a recent prior visit. When questioned the gentle man gave reasons that just seemed like excuses. Nothing he was telling me seemed very trustworthy. Unfortunately this isn't the first time we have had to question service that was being recommended or amounts for the service that we were charged. They were always giving what seemed like excuses, especially to my wife, who knows more about cars than I do. This was never an issue before staffing changes. We have been loyal Monroe customers for years at this location for years with exceptional service. These staffing changes has turned our once trustworthy garage into one that seems like a box store garage that makes you question everything they are telling you. So we will not be returning to Monroe.

  • Wow !!! The last time I was in in 2016 I had brake work, an oil change and an inspection. Brake work (front Brakes )and inspection (passed after the brake work was done) was ok but the oil change the mechanic only gave me 5 Quarts of oil while my car takes 6 quarts. Within a week I was back in the shop for a follow up to add oil to turn off a warning light telling me to add oil/check engine. My car passed inspection but they told me I would be Received a coupon from Monroe for Brake service and I am close to my inspection so I decided to take ya up on the offer. The coupon was for a $99 offer for brakes per axel. Dropped the car off for a 7:30 am appointment. The Mechanic George call around 9:30 am to tell me I need Brakes, rotors for my rear brakes and my Parking brake was totally gone. He quoted my a price and I told him to go head with the work. After 3 other calls that day my car was finished at 3:pm and I was on my way to pick it up. Got to the shop, presented with a bill upwards of $700 plus when I was expecting a bill around $400. No one explained the details and after I left I was reviewing my bill. I know the parts have a cost associated with them and I know we have a labor charge and I am happy with the "brake work" Monroe performs for me but I wish I was better informed on the prices... I am very unhappy with a "shop" fee of $59. This is bull$#!^^. No one ever explained the "shop fee" and I don't think I should be responsible for that fee especially when I am confronted with a bill over $500. I would appreciate an explanation of the shop fee as the explanation on the bill is bogus. I would appreciate an explanation. Thanks for your follow up. Brad Huckestein

  • We had an appointment scheduled at 8 am. I was welcomed in they had all the information and seemed on top of things. They drove me to work while they worked on the car. They called to let us know what needed work. Called to let me know when it was done. And picked me up on time from work. The only complaint we had was that we had a budget and the total was $25 over that budget and they would not work with us with that budget. But we will be returning customers because they did not talk us into unnecessary work. And they were very professional.

  • The oil change was completed in a timely manner. When I drove away from the service center, my engine started to smoke. the mechanic had spilled oil all over my engine which created the smoke. I also found that only 3 out of the 4 air filter connections had been closed. luckily, I was changing the filter so I noticed the error. I called the service center who said to return, however, that is inconvenient and should have been completed prior to my departure. Not what I expect from the location.
