Everything appeared to be completed satisfactorily, but hidden fees made the 'special' more expensive than other competitors. The employee did not engage in conversation and came across stoic. I will be searching for a new auto shop because service is what sets apart stores these days.

  • I felt pressured to buy products I did not need. I was told I needed products I know I did not need (brakes - I just had them replaced) and I was late picking my son up from school. I told them I needed to pick up the car at 3:15. It wasn't ready, it was still up on the lift and they showed me a frayed serpentine belt that wasn't mine saying it needed replaced. You know I need to leave at 3:15. I'm not replacing this belt even if it needs it.

  • I brought my car in to have a power window motor replaced. After the initial repair was completed, when I rolled the window up and down, the window made a loud scraping noise of metal on glass that no one had noticed. I called the manager out to examine it, and he and the mechanic were unsure why this new sound existed. Hey asked me to bring the car back in a few days when the mechanic returned from vacation. I took it back and described the issue to the other manager, and he took the car. Called a few hours later to tell me the repair was completed, and didn't offer what was done. When pressed, he said the track just needed lubrication. Now the scraping noise is gone, by the window makes an odd sound upon raising and lowering. Based on previous help, I'm hesitant to return my vehicle to Monro. The owner also tried to sell me the same maintenance cleaning of the throttle body twice in a row, both times stating the throttle body was dirty and would affect my mileage. When I asked him how long a throttle body cleaning should last, and reminding him that I had that same service performed at my last oil change, the owner quickly changed his story, stating they must have forgotten it the first time and he would do a second cleaning for free.

  • I took my car in for an oil change and several more services were recommended, including new brake pads, new battery, new fluids. I agreed to get those, but couldn't stay to have that done on the same day. I called two days later to make sure the service could be done that day and was promised it could be. When I arrived 10 minutes later, I was told that it wouldn't be done until the next day. That was acceptable, as I did not need my car until 2pm the next day. When I mentioned that, I was told it would be done by noon, for certain. However, suddenly, new rotors and new tires were recommended, even though they hadn't been recommended just 48 hours prior. I agreed to the new tires, but not the new rotors. When I arrived at 2pm the next day, the car was not finished. I had to drive out of town. This was very frustrating, given that I was paying $2,000 for the work and that it was promised to be done by noon. I had even mentioned that I did not absolutely need the work done that day and if they didn't think they could get it done in time, I would just bring the car back another day. I realize that it is a business, but the regular push for a Monro credit card is annoying. The service that was still not complete (alignment) was eventually done for free. I asked for another $100 off my bill and was granted that, so I feel somewhat satisfied, although it is doubtful I would use this location for anything other than oil changes in the future.

  • When I did oil change last Saturday, the store manager told me that Subaru required fully synthetic oil for engine oil, I did feel somewhat weird when hearing such claim, since I did not recall a fully synthetic oil was requested when I did oil change previously. However, as I needed to get some work done after dropping the car that day, and I also did not have my previous receipts with me by that time, I did not argue with the store manager. To be fair, the store manager was as unfriendly as I have seen from any store manager and simply not approachable. When I got my car back later that day, I spent a good amount time finding my previous receipts. I was right - my Subaru Legacy has never had fully synthetic oi service before. We used to pay $6.50 per liter for 5 liters of Valvoline MaxiLife engine oil (total $32.50 before tax) for EVERY single service we had before. However, on 09/02/2017, I paid $14 per liter for 5 liter of fully synthetic oil (total $70 before tax) for the service on 09/02/2017 service.. I also contacted Subaru directly regarding your store manager's claim - Subaru required full synthetic oil. Sure enough, their answer was very clear: there is no need to use fully synthetic oil for Subaru Legacy. It was very clear to me that it was dishonest and cheating from your store manager, I demand an apology and money back for my last oil change. It is a crime for people taking advantages from other people's hard work money.

  • The first visit went fine. Got a fuel service and wheel balance. My second visit was suspicious. Used a competitors coupon for an oil change. All the sudden there was something in my tire and the charged me 30$ to patch it (which basically recouped their loss from the coupon). Not sure I trust them as they didn't even suggest to put on my spare after telling them my tires are covered by warranty. Decent thing to keep customers coming back, save them money, earn trust. But that's me and my standard of customer service.

I thought that was a great deal and when I dropped the car off, I was never told that the price would be $24.99 unless I used a credit card from Monro. I noticed on the sign outside that there was hand written, in black ink, very small note saying the price was $14.99 only with a credit card. It seemed very deceiving to me to have that and nothing was ever mentioned to me about the price change and the note was in small black ink on a dark blue background. Very fishy to me.

  • Our recent visit we felt that the store was trying to sell us on unnecessary repairs and maintenance. At the same time two things that they did not mention where the battery and the air-conditioner. The battery died when we picked up the car from the store and had to be replaced and the air-conditioner went out the next day. None of the suggested repairs or maintenance had anything to do with the battery or the air-conditioner. None of the suggested repairs anything to do with the air-conditioner or battery.

  • I am writing to make a complaint against the bad and irresponsible service at Columbus store. At April 22, I requested staffs at Columbus store to check the problems of my A/C and evaluate how much I will pay if I want to fix it, the manager Ben Corotis called to me and promised that if I spend 215USD the A/C will be fixed. But after I paid for it I find the A/C still didn't work, I went back and requested Ben to check the A/C again, this time he told me the A/C has other problems on its main components, I would spend about 800USD if I need to fix it, It is too much for my old car. My point is, I cost 215USD but they don't not fix my A/C as they promised, and they told me they cannot refund my money just give me a couple which allow me cost 10USD at next 2 oil changes, I think it is not reasonable, if your staff check the A/C carefully and told me all the problems at first time, I would not fix it. This loss is caused by the careless work of your staff I shouldn’t pay for it.

This time I ate lunch and hung out in the restaurant (which by the way is just across the parking lot from your store). When I got back I saw that my car was still sitting where I parked it... this was an hour and 15 minutes after I dropped it off. So, the manager came in and I said, How long will it be since he is just now pulling into the garage... Needless to say, I was very upset. I honestly feel I should have received some sort of discount for taking more than 2 hours and making me late getting back to work. I will reconsider the next time I need my oil changed.
