We decided to go to Monro in Bay Village for a new battery and oil change. Bob got us right in on a busy Saturday and did a great job. As first-time customers, he gave my son's car a thorough inspection and recommended a few other repairs. However, we didn't feel any pressure and felt Bob was very upfront and honest as to his recommendations. We will definitely be returning when this car or our others need attention.

  • Work seems ok, but I’ve had to drive around for the last few days with my SUV reeking of cigarette smoke. You’d think when you spend over a grand on service they wouldn’t smoke in your ride. I’ve been going there a long time, lots of money on me and wife’s vehicles. I appreciate Bob and what he’s done for us. Just disappointed with this.

  • I have an older Toyota Avalon with a bunch of mileage on it. I had been going to another mechanic who I liked and trusted for years, but he went out of business. So I took my car to Monroe when I thought I had some issues. The station is located right across the street from my office (Bay Village, OH), so it's convenient. I told the station manager, Bob, about some of the noises I was hearing and if he could look into it. He called me a few hours later and told me that there was nothing that needed to be repaired, and also pointed out a few things about some anticipated upcoming maintenance. He understood that it was an older car and that I didn't want to sink money into it if I didn't need to, and told me things that I could live with and likely what would need replacing and estimated time it would be. Bob is completely honest and straightforward, and I know I can trust him completely. He is also very good at setting expectations for time needed to complete repairs. I am now a customer for life!

  • I'm not the most knowledgeable hen it comes to cars, this often makes me a target for dishonest auto shops who want to squeeze the most out of me. Monro has been a welcome exception! Every time that I have brought my car in they have been very upfront, explaining what they were doing and why. When my car wouldn't start, the manager drove out to me to jump start it and save me the cost of a tow. I had been terrified and was so happy to have someone in the area who was willing to go out of their way and help me. Truly the most honest car service I have experienced.

  • It easy to make an appointment for an oil change or to get work done. They always have a special and their pricing is great. Staff is also friendly and also give you suggestions for maintenance work but aren't pushy like other places. They do a great job every time and you in and out quick.

  • Had the front passenger lower ball joint fixed. I had no problems with that, but the manager said I needed to get my rear brakes and calipers done as well. I told the manager that I will have to wait a couple weeks because I get paid then. I get a call a couple days later saying that the brakes and calipers were in, and the manager asked me when I would like to bring it in. I said not this Saturday but the following Saturday, and the manager didn't sound happy about that. It's not my fault that he could not listen to what I said the first time, and yes it was the same gentleman I dealt with in person & on the phone.

  • I have probably spent close to 10k over the last 8 years(about 7 different cars) at the Bay Village Monro. Sometimes I felt like I was being over charged, but I paid it. Sometimes I felt like I was being told to buy a part that I didn't need, but I paid it. This time I had 1 of my 4 cars that I currently own that Monro has serviced taken to there, that being my 87 Fiero. I had to have the starter replaced and the valve cover gasket replaced. The next thing I know the manager Bob says I need to replace the belt tensioner bracket, which is NO WHERE near the starter. So like a complete idiot, I said ok. When I picked it up not only did they not fix it but now my car makes an UNGODLY noise from the belt area and BOB claims that it's the Belt Tensioner which let me remind you, did not make that noise before I brought it in. Now Bob says he can't find the part that he obviously broke, so now I have to find it?? So lets recap...I was charged 700.00 to have a valve cover gasket replaced, a starter replaced and they broke my belt tensioner bracket that now makes noise that they can't fix.....Crazy isn't it?? It's almost something you would hear about on the news. Please look my name up and look how much I have spent at this location over the years, only to be cheated in the end. I guess its time to find a new, honest mechanic. Very Disappointed....
