  • My first visit to NY mechanic and I chose Monro for an online coupon I found for an oil change. I made an appointment and when I checked in, I was informed that there would a little delay because they were still completing tasks on earlier appointments. I am impressed that they complete the tasks fully and double check their work rather than just turn and burn through customers. Unfortunately, they found something else wrong with my car and actually SHOWED ME instead of just telling me. For this reason, I will definitely give them the opportunity to fix the problem they found.

  • Needed an Oil Change and air in tire. Brought the car in in the morning and paid for the work in advance, picking up the car late in the evening, possibly after closing. The work was done, no dirt or oil stains on my driver's side carpeting and the key left under the mat as requested. Excellent service.

  • On my last visit I had a 2 pm appointment. So I went and asked the guy at the desk how long to do the oil change.He got somewhat upset with me and told me I have the appointment and he has 4 guys there. Well the reason I asked is because on more than one occasion I have had appointments and I have waited an hour to an hour and a half for my oil change.Also I told the man I am walking off the street and I do not know what is going on in your shop and furthermore a 2pm appointment is not always a 2pm appointment when I come here.He got me right in and out which I was thankful for. I must add if I was not saving 15 dollars on the oil change I would have walked out and maybe to never return.

  • A week ago I paid $ 770 dollars for a new Alternate because the light of my battery car came out. $ 495 for the Alternator and $ 220 for labor plus $ 55 for taxes. From the first day after the installation the battery light came out again, I went back to them to check them and they told me everything was fine. Three days after I went to two different mechanic to be checked because the light keeps coming up, the two agreed that this alternator would be the cheapest of autozone (Duralast) about $ 190 when I paid Monro Muffler Brake $ 495 more they left with my old alternator. Today I went to tell him to please change the alternator because he has a problem. The mechanic says nope that alternator is fine and I will not change it because it is ok and he told me that I am not a mechanic that I do not know anything about Alternator ... I told him ok I'm going to pay another mechanic to take out that alternator that you put in, I installed a good one but I have to get my money back ($ 495) plus my old alternator. But Jarvis was very rude to me, he shouted at me and told me that he was not going to give me anything back and he took me out of the workshop ...

  • I went to Monroe Muffler /Brakes to havethem diagnose my brakes . They Manager and employees were very knowledgeable ,patient and honest. While my 9 yr old daughter and I were waiting for the diagnostic to be done , one of the employees noticed that the show on the television was in appropriate for her and asked my daughter if she would like to pick a movie to watch ,which I greatly appreciated . Once the diagnostic was done I was told what my vehicle needed and made an appointment for the weekend 10/14/2017. A few days later I was driving my car and heard a horrible noise coming form the vehicle , my dealership was closed so i called Monro and asked if I could bring the car in and have them look at because I need to travel over an hour away that evening with my daughter, the manager was very nice and told me to come on in. Once they looked at the car and I explained to them that I had just had a new transmission put in the car they explained to me that I shouldnt drive the car and that I needed to call Nissan and have them look the vehicle . I explained to them that I needed to travel that evening and that I was going to look into renting a vehicle , the manager was very thoughtful and called enterprise to see if he could assist in getting me the rate that Enterprise would give Monro customers . I was lucky to get the discount and one of the employees drove my daughter and I over to Enterprise . Once I rented car I went back to Monro and one of the employees drove my car to Nissan while I followed him, please understand that by the time I rented it was after hours for the employees at Monro but they were genuinley concerned for our saftey and more than happy to help my .daughter and I . Monro's customer service was ABOVE and BEYOND . I worked for AAA FOR 3 years and I truly understand what it takes to provide GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and that is what the manager and his employees at Monoro Muffler/ Brakes did . I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM !!!

  • Went for an oil change and was told that my left front wheel bearing might need replacement cause of rattling sound. So at first disappointed that a simple oil change could turn into a substantial outlay of money. Thankfully, the mechanic did more testing and found that it was just the wheel itself that needed replacement. Honesty and trust in who you work with goes a long way!

  • I went in for a basic oil change. A few weeks later, I noticed a weird smell and my check engine light went on. There was oil leaking all over my car because they forgot to screw the oil cap back on after the oil change. I had to replace a sensor on my car due to the fact this happened. Not only that, my whole engine could have blown and my car would've been shot. My car has not been running the same since. Have not been compensated for anything, just questioned.

He was beyond helpful and made sure to do everything he could for me and my car. I drive a lot for my job and needed new tires for my car.   • I made an appointment for Monday 1130AM and dropped off my vehicle Sunday 9AM in a hope that the job will be completed in a timely fashion. However, upon returning Monday at 5PM my car was still not being worked on. When inquired from the manager Jarvin what's going on with my vehicle, he was highly unprofessional in explaining it and attempted to have employee Alejandro do the work . Alejandro started to yell and curse at Jarvin and caused annoyance for customers waiting in the waiting room. The car was completed at 7 PM that was 8 hours after the appointment time just to change tires. Highly unprofessional.

  • Ive been going here for service for at least the last 10 years. I went in for an oil change and inspection, dropping my car off, so the staff never realized who's vehicle it was. I was told by the service writer I was in dire need of brakes. My car, only having 31,000 miles, was nowhere near mileage wise needy, so I was suspicious. I was quoted a price of approximately 400.00, to replace brakes that I didn't need. I brought my car to one of my mechanics at work, who is also a DOT inspector, and had him look at and change if needed, my brakes. Upon him looking, and showing me with his brake 'guage' told me there was no way in h*** I needed brakes. Ive sat in your waiting room for years waiting for service on my vehicles. Ive listened to your service people come into the waiting room and try to sell parts and service to unsuspecting customers. I would get ticked off, but like a ja***ss, would come back again the next time. When the writer called me on the phone, and said I needed brakes, he didn't recognize me. When I came in to get my car, the first thing he said was, 'oh, I didnt know that was you'. I can only think that if he had known, he would have been able to play his game with someone else, and I would continue to be a j****ss and bring my cars there for service.

  • I came to Monro to get my squeaky brakes done. They told me it wasn't my brakes and that it was my wheel bearing so I paid almost $400 to get it done and left with the squeak still there, as loud as ever. I told the manager and he told me to get my brakes done "that might solve the problem". I want the squeak fixed for free or I'm never going to any monro again.

  • I made an appointment online. I didn't even get an email confirmation for it until two days after I had this horrible experience. First mistake: why would the site let me make an appointment if it was too short notice? They ended up not having the tires I ordered for installation. Did they tell me that when I arrived? No. They put my car on the lift and I watched it sit there for two hours with no one working on it. Just trying to get my winter tires off. After two hours I ask what's going on and they inform me that they don't even HAVE the tires. Second mistake: tell me that when I arrive, not when I've wasted half my day. I immediately took my car and left with no service and will NEVER go to a Monro Muffler again.
