  • I was in for an oil change and tire rotation fluid check. All on the coupon i showed at the desk when i checked in. I left my Jeep and returned later before closing. MY TIRES WERE NOT ROTATED. I had marked them with chalk. Do I need to watch all the time. Shortly after i ran out of windshield fluid?? The tech said he rotated two. That's comical or insulting.

  • I had made an appointment for our Sonata on Thursday, December 7th between 9:30-10:00 am. The appointment was made for Wednesday, December 13th at 4:00 PM. I had made the appointment for snow tires to be put on (purchased at Monro 2 yrs. ago-Malta location), as well as alignment, oil checked, fluids and new winter wiper blades. This appointment was made (and confirmed as I checked my recent calls)-indeed the appointment was made at the Malta Monro Location. I was very specific in my request as we had given the Sonata to our 17 yr. old granddaughter and she would not be available until 4:00 PM on weekdays.I also needed to arrange for her father to pick up the all wheel tires up that day as they came off. When I arrived, I was greeted (by Roy) with "you have no appointment here today and we had 2 guys call out" My granddaughter was running 10 minutes late-I was told that they may not be able to get her tires on as the techs were leaving at 5 PM. As Jim was getting the snow tires from my car, I again asked that the wheels be aligned, winter wipers and fluids checked. He again made the comment about 2 guys calling out, I responded by saying that I was sorry about that, but not to make it MY problem.Both he and Roy were very disrespectful and were not listening to my requests. At 4:42, I received a call that the car was done. In looking at the receipt, it had said that the tires were balanced-NOT aligned. Nothing on the receipt about the oil or fluids. When I asked Roy about that, he said that I didn't ask for that. I DID ask at the time the appointment was made and x2 at the shop that day to both Roy and Jim. We have taken our car to Malta Monro MANY times, I never felt so DISMISSED. Jim had always been kind and considerate and had made good for my husband when he arrived at the shop with "no you have no appointment" a couple of years ago. This time was very different and in front of my granddaughter!! We left that afternoon, no service, alignment-not safe!!

  • [Blunder in service, Carelessness and Lie: Set me up on a highway with a wrongly serviced car !!! ] Recently I took my car to the Monro for state inspection. They suggested me to change the front control arm and I obliged. I spent $1000 in doing so. I received a state inspection sticker. I asked them several times to check for any other issues (including tire pressure, washer fluid level, coolant level). They informed me that everything else was fine. I went to visit Pennsylvania that night. But while driving, I was feeling unusual vibrations in my car wheels and also could hear some noise. I never experienced these before in my car. Gradually these agitations increased which made me nervous. In fact, while taking a right turny, the wheel got stuck and restricted movement. I rotated the steering wheels randomly and then pressed the accelerator few times. Fortunately the wheel got moving again. I drove very slowly and headed directly to the Monro location in Malta to get it checked. They told me that the front axle needed to be changed. They claimed it will take ~$900 to fix that.They also insisted that I get it fixed as soon as possible and also advised me to drive slowly as otherwise the car may break down on the road. Next morning I got my car checked at Midas and they told me that the front control arm replacement was a mess and that eventually damaged the axle. They even gave me an estimate of ~$500 for the entire service. I called Monro right away and they offered me a price of $488 ! I asked –“Why did you ask for such a huge amount before ?” He tried to cover it up referring to their business policy to get profit. Eventually I got it fixed from Midas. 1) Why did they issue me a clearance if my car needed such a major fix before? 2) If my car needed to be driven slowly,why did they let me go with an incompletely serviced car which I drove through the highway after the inspection? 3) Why would they ask for such high price exploiting trust of customers?

  • I had my Utility Trailer bearings lubricated, tire pressure checked and Trailer inspection done, it cost me $6, I thought it was a mistake, Scott said that the bearings just needed a little grease, didn't take long for the inspection and Tire pressure check. I really can't remember a time that any type of service center was so honest and fair, I expected a $100 charge, he could have done the same amount of work and still charged me a lot more... I've been a customer here for a few years and will be going again for sure! Thanks Scott/Monroe Muffler/Brake for being so fair, keep up the great work!!!

  • I moved to Malta 9 years ago, Monro is 1 mile from my home, so I gave them a try. I've been a customer ever since. I have always been treated with respect, the service has been great and they aren't on a mission to sell something I don't need!! The guys are honest and not condescending - as a woman, this is quite a rarity - they take time to explain things to me. All the guys are great - Jim, the manager, is courteous and accommodating. The vibe is "small town" even though developments are springing up all around us. I truly hope that isn't lost.

  • During an annual inspection, the service team found a worn front wheel bearing. The service manager went over the estimate and indicated the service could be done while I waited. In less than an hour the service was done and I was on my way home. The vehicle is tracking much better and the road wandering has been eliminated!

  • I was getting my tires rebalanced and aligned after they screwed it up the first time and the guy at the counter - Roy - blantantly lied to me. I called to see if my vehicle was ready and he told it was on the lift getting aligned and would be ready in an hour. I waited an hour and a half and had a coworker drive me to Monroe. When I arrived my truck was still sitting in the same spot I parked it 4 hours previously. It was not started or looked at. I wasted my and my coworkers time. I was quite upset for being lied to. All he had to do was tell me the truth. It's not that hard. I'm still not sure if my truck was ever aligned even though I was charged for the service. The steering wheel is still about 5 degrees off of center just as it was prior to bringing it in. I have trust issues with the Monroe in Malta NY. Jim Krier
