  • I needed a muffler line replaced, they quoted me a reasonable 1 hour labor on the job. However while I expect some markup on parts, I was not expecting over double the price on the muffler parts. I could get the Muffler line parts (replace the whole exhaust from the catalytic back) from the Napa sharing the same buidling structure as Monroe for $230. Monroe however quoted me 457 for the exhaust parts. I cannot justify that much of a gouging on parts prices especially when they can just walk next door to get them for half of what was quoted. I'll do the job myself for $230 in parts instead of the $650 job I was quoted. The plus side was the mechanics were pleasant, but the counter rep trying to gouge prices got snippy when I compared Napa's prices to his. Offered me a gruff here's 100 off take it or leave it and I left it. (230 + 1 hour labor at 115/hr = 345 not 550 with the 100 off)

  • I have come back to this branch for many years because of the honest and good service I received from Ed Harrington. You now have hired one of the rudest, most obnoxious managers - Lance Francisco working there and I have serious doubts I will be returning. I just spent over $1200 on service. I was told I would have my car done on Monday. Then Tuesday. Then Wednesday morning. I agreed to pick it up Wed night. 6:30 pm it was still being serviced. For a loyal customer...with a high bill.... to be told "the parts came in at 10:30 am and the labor was 4 hours..that Monroe did me a favor by getting all these little extras done and I was disrespectful to complain about the delay" was just the worst customer service ever. This should have been worked on and done by 2:30 pm. Mr. Francisco blamed everything on Mr Harrington. To set the record straight....Mr. Harrington is the reason I come back over and over and recommend this location. In one visit, Mr Francisco just cost you my business. I truly hope you transfer him out of this branch. I never want to deal with him again. And, after 3 days and $1200 I still drove away with a rattle that I never had before. I drove back immediately after hearing it, he "tweaked"'s still is there. Not fixed. And now he is telling me I have a brake issue. I don't want to return to have to be lied to, told I'm rude, or deal with this obnoxious behavior again. PRETTY LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Get rid of him

The guys in the shop are always super friendly and happy to explain any issues. They're pretty good about scheduling, too, and can usually fit me in that day. Definitely would recommend this shop.

  • Had a 10:30 appt. took an hour to finally check the rf tire I told them was leaking. They were confused by the tps that they didn't reset last oil change, even though I told them again which tire was leaking. Was told it couldn't be fixed, that I needed 4 tires and they didn't have my size but "don't worry I'll take care of you.." went home. Called competition made appt for next day. Tire fixed. Tps reset. I'll buy my tires there when I need them

  • Have been a regular customer at Monro for all my service needs for decades. First in the Rochester, NY area and now in Syracuse. I have consistently received great value and service from any of their shops. As well as having good repair expertise, one of the main things you want from a auto mechanic is honesty. In other words not being hoodwinked our "sold" repairs you really do not need. I have always found the Monro staff to be very honest and forth right. They always seem to be looking out for the customer's benefit. I would never go anywhere else unless it's warranty work at the dealer.

  • Online website provide a quoted price for tires after entering vehicle information. Store did not honor quoted price and instead used a different tire type than had been requested and charged a higher price. Sales person also evaded giving out sales receipt at point of sale after work had been completed. Customer had to insist on seeing itemized invoice at time of payment. Store should have honored quoted tire prices as was provided to customer online.

  • Went in for Inspection, oil change and put my summer tires back on. I knew I had a running light bulb out and needed that changed as well. It was no problem they had it all completed in about an hour 15 min on a Sunday morning when only 2 of them were working. They made sure I knew how my brakes and tires were, explained everything so that anyone could understand what they were talking about. Both men were very nice and pleasant!

  • I scheduled a routine inspection for Saturday. I brought my car in early and dropped it off. I was informed they were behind, I told the man at desk it was ok, I would be back later to get the car. I was shocked when they called me and said my car was done only 1 1/2 later. I have gone to another location religiously but had moved too far for me to continue service. I was apprehensive about going to another location not knowing the employees and service, etc. I have to say the same amount of respect and commitment at the other location. I never feel as if they are talking down to me being female. I now take my son's car there for repair because they have proven they are reliable and come through with what they say they are going to do. I will continue to bring my car there for repairs without fear of gouging or feeling I am being taken advantage of. Thank you to your East Syracuse Location!!!!

  • The staff were friendly and helpful. My vehicle was in and out of the garage for an oil change quicker than I expected. However, the check engine light came on a couple blocks down the road after leaving the shop. I turned around and had the problem checked, and after trying - the mechanic said he couldn't diagnose the problem because my vehicle is "too new" (2015). I went to Autozone and they ran a diagnostic just fine. Though the mechanic attempted to run a diagnostic and was very helpful, I gave a lower rating for not being able to get the results and having to go to another shop.
