  • I made a 9:30 am oil change appointment over a week ahead of time. It was the earliest appointment they would make. I wanted to wait and was told about an hour as has been the case for many years. At 10:20 the car had not been touched. I questioned why and was told that appointments were give or take 30 min. The car was finished at 11:15 and per the new policy, I had to get a new credit card to get my normal price of 24.95. I don't need nor want another credit card so I paid the extra $10 and will not return in the future.

  • I have used Monro for oil changes and other services in the past. Monro has always sent me a postcard with a discount which I have appreciated and used. This time I went for an oil change with a discount card. I gave the clerk the card when I handed him the keys for the car. When the job was finished I went to pay and was told that the discount cards have changed in that I now had to have a Monro credit card to get the discount. I did not want another credit card so the bottom line is that I paid much more for the oil change than I had planned to pay. I will be looking for another local business for my oil changes and auto service.

  • Monro gave me a great price on synthetic blend oil change, and were very friendly. Only issue was that I dropped off my car at 3pm and was told it would be done by the end of the day. When I went to pick it up the next morning at 9am they still hadn't serviced it so I had to wait.

  • I go to this location for almost all my car repair needs . They were able to get me scheduled within 48 hours of calling which I really appreciated . They called me within 20 minutes informing me of what the repair was and the cost . They offered me 20$ off a 440$ bill , I just wish there was better discount coupon going on at the time and then offered me10% off .i searched online hoping for 20% due to it being such a high cost repair .

  • The overall service for my inspection was great. However like every time I've brought my car in, no one called to tell me it was ready. I had an appointment at 11am and by 4 I called and was told that it was ready. I was hoping to get my car back earlier. I wonder how long it was sitting there ready.

  • I went to this store for oil change and ties rotation. I left my car with them for like 4 hours. After 4 hours I picked up my car. On reaching home i washed my car from inside and outside. As my habit I checked the dip stick to see the level of he oil. To my horror I found out that neither my oil was changed nor tires were rotated. Nobody even bother ed to put oil change date sticker. I took my car back to the store and spoke with the mechanic on duty. First of ll he denied the fact but when i insisted then he drained the oil out. there it proved that they only changed the filter and left the same old oil in the tank. I was a shock for me. Although he changed oil but i totally lost my trust in this store.

  • To be fair, I had let my car's oil change go, and was almost desperate for service, had even called multiple places looking for an oil change. Finally, this Monroe agreed that they could schedule me for Sunday at 12 (noon). We told them specifically that I needed to have the car back by 2 because I needed to travel several hundred miles and get my kids. No problem. But when we showed up, they had no record of the appointment. The clerk said it was an oversight by the manager, and he couldn't get it done in 2 hours. Very frustrated, very angry. He offered to schedule it for Tuesday, and then Wednesday, and offered to do it for half price. OK. So we bring the car in Wednesday, and left it at 9 am (11 am appointment) and told them we would be back at 1. When we came back, the two mechanics and manager were sitting in the service bay, shooting the breeze, while the car was still on the lift, with the tires off... for an oil change. Now, I know its Monroe's policy to try to upsell you, and that's what they were doing - they said I need tires and brakes. We told them no, we had specifically only asked for an oil change, and waited around for another 15 minutes while they put the tires on. I appreciate that they squeezed me in.... but they didn't really, and the day they finally did it, they were clearly not busy. Just a bad experience. If you want to go to Monroe, go to the one at Transit and Main - ask for Hank.

  • I made an appointment to have my oil changed at this location. It was under my husbands name Robert Babcock for 10:00am on Friday, July 14th. I got there they took my keys and said it would be done shortly. I sat there for almost 1 hour and my car was never moved. I was going to give them 1 hour to stat working on my car and then I was going to leave. At 2 minutes to 11:00am they took my car in. The whole hour I sat there waiting no one said a word to me about the wait. As everyone else I made this appointment on my day off and had other things I needed to get done. I was very disappointment with the service I received. What's the sense in making an appointment!!!

  • Brought my car in for a check engine light. Could not pinpoint the problem at that time. Thought it might be a leak in the gas tank filler neck or a computer issue. Larry (and the manager on duty) suggested that using a "smoker" which was at another store could be brought in to diagnose the problem. they asked if I could leave the car, but I had things to do and couldn't. I asked them to call me when the smoker was available and I would bring the car back. That was a WEEK AGO -- not a peep from anyone. I have serviced my car there for years and have spent thousands of dollars based on your service recommendations and attention to my vehicles needs. This kind of ignorance on the part of your staff leads me to believe you either don't pay your employees enough to retain quality people or you really aren't concerned with customer satisfaction. I am very disappointed at this point, and would like to see this resolved soon.

  • I initially went to your location on N French Rd in East Amherst,NY as a result of a continual check engine light being on. At that time an oxygen sensor was replaced for a total of $272.52 supposedly to resolve the problem. I have returned three additional times and the light remains on. The computer was used as well as two efforts to adjust the gas cap. Even though I have had my two cars serviced at this location. I will not return. I have advised the mgr(James Cooper of this.

  • Took my Lexus RX330 to the neighborhood Monro Muffler shop for a rear brake job on 12/13/2016. Apparently the calipers were hung up and the brake pads were not coming in full contact with the rotors when braking as shown by the narrow shiny streaks left on the rotors. Instead of repairing or replacing the calipers as part of the job, this particular shop, located on 4950 North French Road in East Amherst, NY, only replaced the rotors and the pads. A few days after the repair, I noticed the driver side rotor was over heating so I took the car back to the shop. The manager, Jim, took a looked at it and told me there was nothing to worry about for it was quite normal even though the very mechanic who worked on the car originally thought it was probably a good idea to take a look at it. Two months later I noticed the rotors had the same narrow shiny streaks on them again. I took the car back to the shop once again. This time the manager told me the problem was with the calipers and he quoted me just under $700 to fix the problem. I declined his offer and took the car to a mechanic I trust but much further away. They ended up replacing both of the pads and the rotors that Monro had just installed back in December! They further replaced the left caliper (completely seized) and the slider pins in the right caliper. The whole job costed me about half of what Monro quoted me to replace the calipers. This experience leaves me very unsatisfied with this Monro shop not to mention how this incompetent repair job put me and my family at a great risk while driving this car thinking that it was safe when it clearly was not!

  • Promises made to me regarding when the work would be done (1 day turned into 2+ days)--- Deposit for parts ($200) turned into full payment upfront (never happened previous 7 years)---repairs done poorly (TPMS light still on & pwr steering still a problem) why should I have to put up with that for spending $1800?

  • Jim found leaks and tightened the bolts. He cleaned the pan and had me take the car home overnight, to see if that solved the problem, although he thought the gasket would have to be replaced. When I came back Thursday morning Josh took the car right in for the gasket replacement. Matt did the work efficiently and made sure the problem was solved. This team made an annoying situation as stress- free as possible. The customer service was excellent every step of the way.
