  • 15 years ago, Monroe in West Seneca screwed me big time. They took my car apart during a normal inspection and refused to put it back together stating parts were broken. It cost me $750 to get my car. I swore at that time I would never go to a Monroe again. My sister & I took both of our cars in for an oil change yesterday. It was close & convenient at the time. My sister's car was done first and we noticed the tires we not rotated, which is a free service with the oil change. She questioned it and they pulled the vehicle back in and rotated the tires. My vehicle was in the first bay next to the waiting area. I watched the whole time he had my vehicle. When he opened to door to back my car out, I asked it he rotated the tires, he said yes & I said I was watching the whole time & you did not. I then went to the counter & explained it to another guy and they then rotated the tires. I wonder how often this happens. Watch your vehicles. You are probably not getting what you are promised.

Showed up at 4 on Monday, no part, my contact information hadn't been saved so I wasted the trip, was told I would get a discount and to come back same time Tuesday. Also, this email lists my vehicle incorrectly, I have a 2012 Dodge Journey, not 2012 Jeep Patriot.

  • I called a week ahead of time to make an appointment for an inspected and an oil change for my car. The main reason I needed an appointment was for the inspection, though. I still had a couple hundred miles left before I needed the oil change. When I called to make the appointment, I made sure that I doubled checked with Bruce, the man who took my call, that the appointment was for the inspection AND the oil change, which he confirmed. However, when I showed up for the appointment and said that I was here for an inspection and oil change, Bruce, (the same one who took my call), said, "Oh, there's no inspections today. The inspector doesn't work here on Thursdays." I remember his comment exactly because it made me very irritated, as if it were my fault for showing up when the inspector was not there, even though I had confirmed with him twice that I need both the inspection and oil change. I had to fight a torrential downpour to get to my appointment on time, not to mention waste another day to schedule and wait around for the inspection to be done. I would have understood the situation if he had simply said he was sorry for the mistake instead of making it seem like it was my fault. While silently fumed at Bruce, the technician on duty that day (unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but he was young, with longish, blond hair), took good care of my car and even smiled kindly at me when he returned my keys. He is the only reason why this review is two stars instead of zero. I might return to the McKinley location someday because of the good technicians, but I'll make sure Bruce isn't working that day first.

  • The steering rack on my car was bad. I had a choice of getting a new car or having my car fixed. The car is 10 years old. I have kept up maintenance on the car and am happy with this Kia. I know the car is still in good shape. After talking to Bruce at Monroe, I decided to have it fixed. He explained everything to me. The expense of having it fixed (which was less than I thought it would be) was worth it as not to rush into having to look and buy a new car. I am very happy with the service at Monroe and with Bruce.

  • went in for oil change and and rotation with a 14.99 coupon on 2/20/2017. After walking in and seeing another new manager behind the counter i thought "here we go again"!!. Another new manager who is going to try to soak me for all he can..and tell me i needed all sorts of work that i didnt need.. again.. after my intitial convo with Dave i sensed a completley different type of manager, one who was outgoing, smiling, and very personable.He made small talk about my job and aboutt my previous experiences at this shop. which hasnt been good to say the least. But I can honestly say my work was completed on time and Dave approached me to talk about my car. he was very informitive and honest about what i needed. he also took me to the car and showed and explained what my issues were. little did he know i already had another shop look at it so i knew what it needed. i can honestly say Dave seems to be very trustworthy and was completley honest about my repairs. THATS A FIRST SINCE I HAVE GONE THERE! monro needs more managers like him and as long as Dave and his crew is there i will comntinue to bring my work there! A+
