  • A week ago I went to the Court Street, Binghamton, NY store asking what it would cost for an oil change for my Honda CRV. The store manager was the only person at the desk and he told me it would cost 87.00 for a synthetic oil change and that I couldn't use the coupon mailed to my home to get it for significantly less. I told him I could go to my dealer and get a better price and he said I should go across the street to the Toyota Dealer and see if they would give me a better price. As a matter of fact, my Honda dealer would change my synthetic oil for $47.00 and Valvoline quoted me $51.00. The man was rude and not at all accommodating. I have done business in that location for over 30 years and have always been happy with the service and fair pricing. I will never do business with Steve Granger, Jr. again. A few days after this incident my husband had a flat tire and the other employees in the store were very accommodating and helpful and friendly. They have always given us the price on the coupons mailed to us on a regular basis even though we do not have your credit card.

  • I went to the 420 Court St. location on April 13th for an inspection, oil change, and air filter replacement. The shop foreman/ manager specifically discussed with me how my vehicle required full synthetic 0w-20 motor oil. I agreed, as this is the only oil that has ever been put in my car. I was shocked when I checked my invoice the next day- after a day of driving with obviously and noticeably reduced fuel efficiency. My car had been filled with 5w -30, according to the invoice and, even more shocking, the sticker on my windshield indicated that "premium conventional " oil had been used!! This is unacceptable. When I called the shop, whomever answered the phone assured me that they were sure that these two written errors were just clerical mistakes. Corporate customer service has already been notified and my refund has been issued, but driving my car for 250 miles with either the incorrect weight or improper category of oil has certainly done more damage to my engine than is apparent yet. In addition, my car passed inspection on the 13th, but my brakes were screeching and grinding the whole way home from your shop....today, I had my front pads and rotors on this car replaced as they were grinding metal on metal. Soooooooooo, yeah. This location sent me out the door with the wrong oil in my car and brake pads that wouldn't pass inspection. Great job. Way to check your work. That technician, Z. Snow, has no business being around cars without adult supervision. He is completely incompetent. That whole visit to your location was a waste of my time. That office manager dropped the ball allowing this work to leave the shop. I am so disgusted.

  • I've been a loyal customer for many years and I went to the shop to get an inspection on March 17th. I sat there for quite awhile before I was told that my front brake pads needed to be changed and also the rotors but it would pass if I decided not to do the rotors. The price seemed outrageous to me so I didn't have them do the rotors. I felt they rushed me out of there bc it was 7:10 pm and they wanted to close. I got 5 min up the road only to realize they never changed my wiper. I immediately called but no one answered. I had to take time out of my day to go back that following monday. When I questioned rich about a part I was charged for and that they didn't tell me about, he tried to say it was required but when I asked if it was required or they broke it he said "well it wouldn't come off!" I asked why I should be charged for something they broke. He turned and walked away without answering me. Perry changed the wiper, apologized and basically admitted that they were rushed the first night I was there. I immediately filled out the survey and within a few days was contacted by a jim. He apologized for the poor service and told me they were refunding me for that part and giving me $25 towards an oil change. To date I have not received anything. I called Jim several times and he never got back to me. When I finally did reach him he said I should've gotten the refund, that he'd check and get back to me. That was the beginning of april. Ive never heard back. I've sent 4 emails to customer service and despite the message that someone would be in contact asap. I have NEVER been contacted. This is unacceptable. I also have a terrible scraping, grinding noise when I brake and plan to take my car to another garage bc I have to wonder if the repairs I was charged for were even done! Guess you don't care about losing a loyal customer! Disgraceful!
