  • I had a 1pm appt. I dropped my car off at 11:30am. I said if you can get it done sooner please call me. There was no call. At 2:25 I came back to get my car. It was not done. It was still being worked on. I asked the guy at the desk how much longer was it going to be. That my appt. was at 1 and my car should have been done already. He went to ask the mechanic who was working on it. Then he came back and said about 5 more min. "20" minutes later, at 2:45 my car was done. I also asked the guy at the desk if they rotated my tires. He said yes. The mechanic then drove the car out of the shop. He gave me my car keys. Then to make sure it was done, I asked the mechanic if my tires were rotated and he said no. That he talked it over with his manager and since there was more tread on the back tires and the car was rear wheel drive that it was decided not to rotate them. I said oh, I didn't know the car was rear wheel drive. Then I drove off. I noticed that my oil change indicated still said 8%. It hasn't been reset. I then stopped and called my husband to let him know what they said about the tires. He then told me our car is not rear wheel drive. That they should have rotated the tires. So I then turned around and went back to the shop. 20 minutes later my tires were rotated and I left for the 2nd time. By this time it was around 3:15.

  • I had 2 tires that need to be put on my car. I? called before coming to the shop because i had to work. The gentleman on the phone reassured me that they could get me in and out and id be able to make it to work. I brought my car down and it’s took almost a hr and a half to change 2 tires. Of course I was late for work. Even the i called before coming in to make sure it wouldn’t happen.

  • When I arrived, I waited about 5 minutes in the waiting room before any workers entered. Finally someone did, so I said hello. He said the manager would help me in just a minute. No hello, no other words. I heard yelling and loud banging coming from the garage room, and sure enough, the manager entered the waiting room visibly frustrated and mumbling under his breath. He took my keys and got me set up. While I waited during the service for about an hour, he entered the room several times still muttering things like "only three more hours," "this can't go fast enough," and various swears. My car was serviced fine and I have no complaints about that; it was just rather uncomfortable in the customer service department.

  • Had my front wheel bearings repacked with grease & was charged $120 for this effort, which included removing the front wheels, 2 little caps and stuffing grease onto the bearings & reinstalling the caps & wheels. I also had my standard transmission oil changed, which took 1 1/2 pints of 90 SAE oil and the differential/rear end oil changed that took 3 1/2 pints of 90 SAE oil, for a total of 5 PINTS of SAE 90 oil and was charged $127.99 (before a $20 discount) or a net $107.99 for 5 PINTS of SAE 90 oil. I called Monro & spoke with Kevin, the mgr., & asked him if there wasn't some errors in the $120 and $127.99 charges. His reply was "No, they're correct." I then had to go back because Richard, the mechanic, had to correctly fix my emergency brake because he didn't fix it on 10/17 like he was supposed to do. He now found that a small cable was missing. I told him to install it but he said they didn't have any cables (hard to believe) & that I should go & buy one & he would install it, which I did. He finally got the emergency brake to work, after a few times because initially when he gave me the car back, the emergency brake was frozen up and locked. I asked Richard about the $120 and $127.99 exorbitant prices and his answer was that "These are the prices that are in the computer and he couldn't change them." What nonsense... I therefore feel that I've been "Price Gouged' for about $200, which is outrageous and most likely against the law. But I'll forward a copy of this email and a copy of my 10/17/17 Monroe invoice to NYS Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and see if he agrees with me and puts a stop to Monroe centers from price gouging people.

  • I have been going to monro in Newark ny for years. This time I went to the auburn location. Near the end of the service I was told that my air filter needs replacing and the charge would be around 43 dollars. I found this strange because they were offering a air cleaner AND a pair of windshield wipers for I think 24.99. I declined on the filter and waited for my Bill. I had signed up for the monro card and the Bill was to be 54.99 plus tax. My Bill was 72 dollars and change....WITH THE CARD. They said the extra charge was for the EXTRA oil and yes it's 14 dollars and Don t bit ch at us WE DONT SET THE PRICES. I have been going to the Newark monro for years and never was I told of an extra charge. Also on the flyer I got in the mail said nothing either. As it turned out this cost me 22 dollars more then the Chevy dealer in Williamson which is closer Just as a side note I recieved a coupon email today from you. The price was 10 dollars cheaper than the last coupon. Talk about insult after injury.
