  • I was quoted a price of $90 to put on a piece of exhaust that I planned on putting on myself but had trouble with, and $64.99 for front end allinement. This was on Saturday. They were book up, so we made an appointment to drop the car off Monday night and have the work done on Tuesday. When they sent me a e-mail on Tuesday iit said that the exhaust would cast $658.55 so I called to find out what was the story. (That did not include the allinement) they now told me that they can not use parts from outside the shop. I said that I was told it was no problem on Saturday and I was quoted $90 he said " so you say and do you have that in writing" which is just calling me a liar. Plus they tried to charge me $127 for apart that I could got at any parts store for $20 that was not including labor. They told me that they couldn't do my allinement because there was a "rattle" in my front end. I had just replaced my tie rod myself so I know the condition of my front end, again " Craig" made clear that I had no idea what I was talking about. " did you get under there with a crowbar and pull at the inner tie rods" I told him no but I had had it inspected the week before when I bought new tiers for my car and that I had a printout of the results. Needless to say I came and got my car and brought it to Mufflerman. And they put on my piece of pipe, and did a allinement without any mention of this fictional "rattle". O2 sensor. All for under $300. When you bring your vehicle to a shop you expect a certain amount of bump up in price, but this was being violently screwed. At best they are completely incompetent there, at worst criminally fraudulent. I will be repeating this story to EVERYONE I meet for the rest of my life.

  • I have been a loyal customer for many years and have brought in a lot of people by referring them. I made an appt to have my head light replaced and they have my car on file. They said l would have to wait an hour due to them having to have the bulb delivered. And was going to charge me almost 60 dollars. Mind you l made the appointment day before. I now live in Cedar Springs and drove all the way to Kentwood. I did not have time to wait. I left disappointed and went to O"Reillys and the guy there out if courtsey put it in and it cost me 15 dollars. I guess l will be looking for a new place to go. It sucks after all these years of patronage.

They were issues that were hard to miss too. I bought the car based upon the Monro inspection, and now it’s not looking like a great buy.

  • I received a very colorful ad in the mail and went into the Kentwood store on Division. I knew I needed an oil change and my brakes/tires checked. I was afraid that since I don't know anything about cars that I might be taken advantage of. Sam and all the crew were very respectful and knowledgeable. They answered my many questions in easy language. The jobs were done in less than the quoted wait time. I was very happy with the whole process. I will tell my friends.
