  • When my brakes began to sound like the bird enclosure at the local zoo, I made an appointment at Monro for an evaluation and an estimate. They took my car at the exact time, explained what was wrong (in detail at one of the busiest times of the year) and worked with me to make a second appointment to have the work done. I am so, so satisfied—the repair was done in a timely manner and the work was road tested; the price was right; the people were friendly, not just to me, but with everyone who came in or called while I was there. I'll go back again the next time my car needs any kind of service.

  • I needed to get an alternator replaced on my 2007 highlander. I went to Monroe and they charged me over $600, I mentioned this to a friend of my and he told me I was robbed. I called firestone to get a quote just to double check, they their quote was under $300 for the same job minus the cost of a replacement belt.

  • Your location on Cheshire Rd., Pittsfield, MA and 514 Pittsfield Rd, Lenox, MA would not accomodate me. Pittsfield was too busy when all the bays were empty and Lenox only had one mechanic on duty. I had called earlier in the week and was told to just stop in. I have an out of state trip for this upcoming weekend and will now have to time off of work to find a business to do an oil change.

  • Price and stock number advertised on line was unavailable. BF Goodrich T/A sport no 72111M, 70000 mile all season, T speed rating. Had to settle for 60000 mile tire, BF Goodrich T/A with V speed rating. Feel like I was taken advantage of due to time constraints and existing tire issues. Also severe front end vibration noticed next day when driving on highway. Took vehicle to another repair shop and found out NONE of the tires were properly balanced. Cost me additional $40 and time I can't afford to spend correcting problem. I am still upset over that issue.

  • Prompt, friendly service. Had to return to complete the transaction as the "computer system" was not functioning. Also discovered two days later when it turned cold that they failed to verify my tire pressure which was way low when it went cold in two days and the monitoring system in the car let me know. Down 5 pounds of pressure. No way in two days due to the cold.

  • I scheduled a free brake inspection on-line the night before and the earliest available appointment was 9:30. My daughter had to drive the vehicle back to college so I showed up at Monro at 7:30. I explained my situation and without hesitation the manager took the vehicle right in! They conducted a thorough brake and tire inspection and I left there fully confident that the vehicle was safe for my daughter’s trip. Thanks Monro!

  • I had my front pads and rotors done and my back pads. When I came in, there was NO grinding or pulsing. Now the car SHAKES when I press the gas. I called and was told I probably had a defective rotor (does that happen often? The man on the phone seemed pretty nonchalant about it). I was told to come in today to have it fixed. When I got there today, I was told they were "all out of rotors" and I had to come back tomorrow.

  • I only got my oil changed and tires rotated. There were problems with my truck and I stopped them when the quoted price went over a thousand dollars and there was more to be fixed. I ended up go some place else and have the problems fixed for $ 325. The local mechanic laughed when I told him Monroe quoted over a $1000. The services was terrible and I wasn't the only one treated that way that day. The two times I have gone there the told me to come back the next day because they are short staffed. I went back the next day and they told me the same thing. It angers me they tried to do this. I am a hard working man with not much money and will never step foot in that place again. This place has never been recomenddd to me and now I know why.

  • I made a 7:30 appointment in Lenox Massachusett for an oil change and to have my windshield wiper fixed. I arrived at 7:35, the store was still closed, locked and no one was there. No one arrived until 7:50. After dealing with another customer who had also been waiting for the store to open, he apologized that they were running "a little behind" and that his assistant manager hadn't shown up and he had gotten a call that the store wasn't open. He made a call and clearly couldn't get ahold of his employee. When I was paying, I asked about the windshield wiper. He had forgotten to look at it, and after going back to check on it, he was unable to tell me why it was broken or how much it would cost to fix it. I am no longer sure that I would trust my truck to anyone who works at Monroe Muffler and Brake. What if I had asked for a more serious issue to be looked at and it had never been checked? And if the assistant manager doesn't show up for work, I wouldn't be confident that he would do a good job working on my truck. With plenty of other options in the area, I see no reason to return to Monroe.

  • This store obviously has issues with labor. Always short handed. It took two days just to get an estimate on the needed work. Needed more brake work after a complete brake job just a few months ago. Oil cap not replaced after oil change. I'm doubtful that I will use this or any monro again.

  • I have been a customer of the Monro Muffler/Brake in Lenox Massachussetts for more that 10 years. This morning I has a simple problem, My signal light needed replacement, Manager Mark quickly and without hesitation took my car into the shop and made the diagnosis. No appointment needed for this one he said. I was in a bit of a rush as usual and Mark quickly picked up on that and took care of my problem straight away. I have to say as a former mechanic and for the many years that I have been going to Monroe I have watched Mark treat the all of the customers with the greatest of respect and a friendly smile. These tires could've been ordered on line and sent to the store for $133 each.....instead, I called and ordered them and then was charged $186 each. AWFUL

  • I purchase my tires at Monro, including a set of wheels (rims) for my snow tires. Because tires are already mounted, it cost me nothing to have them swapped out. It's the same as a free tire rotation, and saves money twice a year if I had to change tires on the same wheels.

  • They have serviced my vehicles and I have been for the most part very happy with the job they did and the prices (coupons help). The only disappointment I had was with the previous set of new tires I bought - didn't last very long. I did replace them with the Kelly tires and hopefully they will last longer that the Blacklions. The employees at my location are always very nice and they will explain things to me when I seem a little bit confused as to how or why they are doing something. As a senior citizen I appreciate that because cars are becoming more and more complex.

  • It took almost 2 hours for a simple oil change, and I had an appointment. Driving home, something felt off but I didn't think much of it. Driving to work later in the day, my check engine light comes on, black smoke starts coming from under the hood, and the car stalls. They forgot to put the oil cap back on. Thankfully, my engine didn't seize. I will never go back
