  • My daughter who is working two jobs trying to make ends meet. She hit a pot hole and got a flat tire driver front. She put the spare on and I had two tires someone gave me a while back that fit her car so I went to MONRO to have the two tires put on ( her passenger front was very worn down). But, one of the tires I had was no good and so I only could replace the spare. But Ben( the MONRO manager) found a used tire that I could use and GAVE it to us. So now my daughter has two good tires in the front of the car! This was incredible service. I told my daughter and she was so happy and relieved. Great job by Ben!

  • I don’t agree with the constant up charge of so called “shop fees” due to rags and other extras that you say you have to compensate for. When I had more expensive work done I was charged $39 and when I questioned what it was for the manager had no good answer. It’s a scam.

  • We were visiting northern Connecticut last Sunday and blew a tire at about 4 pm. Our new car does not have a spare, but came with a can of fix-a-flat plus a pump. This was of no value since there was a huge hole in the side wall. We called AAA and then started calling places that might still be open that late on a Sunday. Your shop in Winsted CT store 308 was about to close, but the assistant manager, AJ Bedick said he would wait for us to be towed in. He was true to his word. He was very helpful and recommend two matching tires, to which we agreed. The technician, A. Dixon, was excellent. He worked efficiently and cheerily, and hot us on our way. My wife and I appreciated the professionalism and courtesy of the Monro staff. We are not likely to ever return to that particular shop, and we may never be able to recommend it to say local customers. But, these gentlmen gave us a fantastic impression of your company.   • I would highly recommend this store in Winsted, CT. Staff is very professional and nice!! You can not get a cheaper deal with your Monro Drive card on a oil change. It includes rotating your tires, they check your battery and all fluids, for $9.99 with the card. It's a steal.

The vehicle was ready when promised, very affordable. The only complaint is the wipers were to small for windshield, call the service manager and will order new one and there was grease on my floor of the driver side but came off with some degreaser

  • on recent Sunday afternoon I was stuck on the road on my was to NYC with malfunction tire in Winsted CT. By the time someone gave me direction to the only place that can help - Monro of Winsted, it was already almost 5 PM the end of the service hour . I got to the place and a young guy greeted me and told me that he is in the process of closing the store. After telling that I must get to NYC that evening, without hesitation, he agreed to help and found the appropriate time for me. He work on the car and was done after 5:30. he saved the day for me! I was very thankful to get back on the road and get home.

There was an issue with my oil gasket from the last place. He was right up front with me and was willing to speak to my husband over the phone to explain the situation.   • On my Rav 4, they were supposed to fix the brakes only, but they also through in a free oil change, which I never asked for. While I appreciate the kindness, they should not have changed the oil as I get free oil changes for life, from the Toyota dealership where I bought the Rav 4 from.I hope your oil change didn't ruin that contract I had with Toyota on the free oil changes or else Monro will have to give me free oil changes for life on the Rav 4. On my recent visit for an oil change and tire rotation on my Camry, I also asked them to also perform the work that your previous mechanic said he would do the next time I brought the vehicle down to you.They were supposed to replace a short piece of exhaust pipe that you had previously put pipe putty on. You didn't do as I asked. You put more pipe putty on it again ! I'm disappointed but I will use you again but please do only as the customer says to do because there is always a reason for it.Again, your thoughtfulness is appreciated but sometimes good intentions aren't a good thing. AS FAR AS YOUR NEW RULE ON BRINGING THE CAR BACK TO HAVE THE LUG NUTS RETORQUED IN A DAY OR TWO OR BEFORE 25 MILES. I DON'T THINK IT'S A GOOD IDEA AS IT'S AN INCONVENIENCE TO THE CUSTOMER. IN MY 66 YEARS, NEVER HAVE I EVER HAD TO DO THAT.IF THE LUGS ARE TORQUED PROPERLY THE FIRST TIME THEY SHOULDN'T NEED THAT. One more suggestion, guy the workers more time off. The seven day per week thing would kill anyone.If the higher up official don't work 7 days per week, neither should the ones on the bottom doing all the work!

  • My brake light came on. I swung into Monro to make an appointment for service. The manager in charge asked if I had time right then. I said yes. They took my car in, did an estimate on what needed to be done, and I agreed to the service and added an oil change. I was back on the road in approximately 3 hours. I am a merchandiser and I do a lot of driving to retail establishments all around CT, RI, MA and NY. I had a very heavy workload last week. By them taking me in right away, it put my mind at ease that I could be safe with my new brakes. Everyone I worked with were courteous and professional. I would recommend them to family and friends. My husband also has his car serviced there.
