  • I had an appointment scheduled for 10 AM this morning. After checking in the man behind the counter asked if I would be staying or if I'd be coming back to pick up my car, I confirmed with him to service takes about an hour and said I'd be back around 11. At 11 I walk in and man behind the counter says, " oh you're here to pick up", I replied and said "yes but it looks like they're just now starting on my car. " As I was walking in, I watched the technician begin checking my car. He apologized and said that someone above him approved for more appointments rescheduled than what they had available. I was told it would be another 30 to 45 minutes before they be finished with my car. At this point I asked for my keys back because clearly my time is not valued by them so I will gladly take my business elsewhere. You lost a customer of over 8 years because of your inconsideration for my time. I understand unexpected things happen, but sticking to a scheduled appointment time shouldn't be one of the those issues. The most frustrating part is that after I dropped off my keys, I had to verbally confirm my cell phone number, but during that hour while they weren't working on my car but instead running even more behind, I was never called. Consider your customers instead of just wasting their time.

  • I came in with a very neglected CR-V. The issues were identified quickly and an estimate was presented after verbally explaining (and walking me out to the car to see) the issues. I didn't feel pressure to fix everything at once because the repairs were presented as priorities with safety information. The thing I most appreciate was that I wasn't treated poorly for waiting so long to come in. I ended up having all recommended repairs completed and feel much safer on the road. He did not tell me that the synthetic oil would cost $50 more - a total of 69.99 which I did not find out about until after the work had been done - a total bait and switch - big signs outside advertising 19.99 oil change which cost me more than $69. Unprofessional, not trustworthy - you advertise trust and then pull this. I will never return - you have lost my business, and I will also tell everyone I know

  • I was due for an oil change, and since the last two times the oil was changed, the shops forgot to reset the "oil life." - This was before I started coming to Monro. Since my maintenance light was on at this point, because my car thought I only had 15% oil life, it was imperative I had my vehicle serviced quickly...two days of seeing the light was max for me! So I hoped online around 2:30 in the afternoon, and soon was confirmed for a 5:30 appointment. I was in and out in under 30 minutes, (I didn't need a tire rotation, as I just bought four brand new tires from Monro at the beginning of July!), and I had a nice chat about my soon-to-arrive first child and caught some of Gilligan's Island! Yet another great experience from the Gahanna Monro - I'll be back again!

  • I went in to get new tires, belts and an oil change. Service was timely, the quote was reasonable, etc. The manager was very friendly, added some coupons to my total, etc. I appreciated that. But when I pulled my car out of the lot, the clutch pedal stuck to the floor. I drove the car up to the first light, then turned around and came back immediately because the clutch repeatedly stuck to the floor, requiring that I pop it up with my toe in between each shift of gear. The manager and staff took a look at it and advised me that I needed new master and slave cylinders. The clutch worked fine when I brought the car in, though it was a bit hard to get it into reverse sometimes. I told them that something they had done had caused the clutch issue, but they said that was unlikely, and that I should bring it back to get it fixed in a few days because it was a specialty part that needed to be ordered. I was really upset because my car was now extremely difficult and unsafe to drive. I had no choice but to drive it for the next two days until I could take it in to the mechanic that I use for more serious problems, and they replaced the cylinders and now it works fine. But what is my recourse for this, considering that Monro Muffler and Break Service caused this problem?

  • I went in for an oil change on my 2006 car and Herb (general manager) and his service technicians provided fast and friendly service. My dad has always changed the oil in my car until I recently moved, so when I provided Herb with the specs of what my dad has always used in the car, Herb said they would absolutely take care of it. Although I don't like that the staff had to work on July 4th, it was convenient for me to take my car in that day since I was off work for the holiday. Overall, 10/10 service. I plan on taking my car back whenever it needs servicing again.

  • I found myself with a tire that was almost flat. I was able to get to this Monro, but it was at the end of the day, and they had a full schedule finishing up that day and the following day. I was from out of town, and I was going to have to try and find anther company to do the fix. They said they would put air in my tire for me to get me back to my hotel, but once they seen how low it was they squeezed me in and fixed it for me.   • I went in to see why my service engine soon light came on and they were able to check out my car right away. I left and was told they would call back when they had fixed it. Got a call a day or two later saying I could come get my car so I went in and picked it up! The employees here are consistently very friendly and knowledgeable. They gave me a thorough explanation of everything they did and what needed to be fixed and explained what every charge on the receipt was for.   • I have taken my car to the Morse Rd and Hamilton Monroe now three times for squeaking brakes. I told them it was the front brakes but I was told they could not be the problem. They were just placed on the car in November and they look brand new. I was told by the technician that he had 5 years experience and that he knew not only was I wrong and it was not from the front brakes but it was the back brakes. I told him more than once that I have ears and that I knew the squeaks came from the front and I said prove it to me. He drove the car and used the parking brake to make a squeak and said see it is the rear brakes because the parking brake only works on the rear brakes. So he replaced the rotors and brake shoes for the parking brake. The previous time I had it there, they replaced the pads and calipers. So now I have all new rear brakes and now my parking brake takes a body builder to pull the lever back hard enough to get it to work. AND THE FRONT BRAKES STILL SQUEAK!! I have been there now three times and no one will listen. I am demeaned that I don't know what I'm talking about and have spent hundreds of dollars and my problem persists and have new problems. I'm not stupid and I have ears!! I can tell where the squeak is from.

I was not sure what type of experience I would have... but it was an amazingly professional interaction in the office and on the phone. The requested service was completed, recommendations were made for additional repairs, but were well-founded, and when I ordered parts to make those changes, the folks at 601 installed the new tires ordered through and delivered by another vendor, again with exceptional service. I was very comfortable both weekends I was there - and would recommend 601 to anyone in the area. Thank you!!

  • I went in to get my brakes checked as I could hear them starting to whine. I was told that the rears needed pads and rotors so they got done. The service was quick, but the price (over $400) surprised me. Admittedly, it's been quite a while since I bought brakes and my car requires a specialized kind. The only downside to this experience is that my brakes are still making the same noises! I'm now starting to wonder if they missed something on the fronts and I can't wait to see how much those will cost.

He simply picked up the phone and called competitors asking for the cost of an oil change, tire rotation, etc. They were BY FAR the lowest prices and the nicest people. Just yesterday, my car broke down and I had it towed to Herb and Monro Muffler. No only because of the guaranteed lowest prices, but because of his honesty. The oil change was fine but they didn't mention anything about my rotors until I brought up the bad vibration when I hit the brakes, then I was told "hats normally means your front rotors need changed. I feel they weren't even looked at. I was also told that I needed 4 new tires nevause the insides were really worn. I asked if they would last till the end of the month when I had the extra money and I was told "good luck"
