I was incredibly fortunate that my car started to break down 2 minutes from Monro (during the aftermath of some very inclement weather). The experience I had there was wonderful. The gentleman who assisted me was personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. His explanations were simple and informative-- No high-pressure tactics, or nonsense. However, they noted that my vehicle now passed 51,000 miles, & since it's now over 2 years old they offered to complete an inspection of my vehicle and provide the required sticker.   • I went in for an oil change and ended up with 2 new brakes and 2 new tires. The up-sell was fine, I needed those things. And then they couldn't start my car afterwards. I think it's because they drained the battery somehow while working on it. But they didn't know there are two batteries on the Prius, not did they know where the batteries were located. That was just very concerning. Eventually they charged the battery and were able to start the car.

  • As always, the staff at Monro Muffler in Providence provided exceptional service! In my prior appointment they alerted me that I would need to get new tires on the car. As I commute 1-2 times a week to Cape Cod & back, it's very important that I have reliable tires. They immediately scheduled an appointment in which I was able to drop off my vehicle & pick up later on that day, thus allowing me to get other errands & tasks done. The service is not only top quality, but provides flexibility & convenient with my schedule.

  • Go online and schedule your appointment ahead of time. You can put notes in your own words so when you are at the shop you do not forget. Get the drive card (credit card) to make the many available coupons more valuable. We had brakes replaced. dropped the car off the night before received a call with an estimate and options close just after the original appointment time and the it was ready to go a few hours later. Note- the drive card is very high interest so if you do not plan on paying the repair off quickly it might not work for you. The card application is only available at the shop because they have to process it there.

  • My family and I are in Providence for the summer (2nd year in a row), and needed an oil change. We don't have the proper facilities to do it here, so we took it to Monro, where I was able to set an appointment that day, and get my Jeep back in an hour. It didn't take but 10-15 min to get everything squared away. Not pushy, but let me know that one of the lug nuts was unable to be removed, so they couldn't rotate the tires, which was fine because we just had them rotated 2 months ago. I will definitely be taking it in before we head out, just to make sure it's running smoothly before our drive back to Indianapolis this fall.

  • I went to get my car inspected here and it took a little longer than I hoped. My inspections in the past have been a piece of cake, I sat in the car the whole time and turned lights on and off/ wipers/ etc. This time they took me right away, but I was sitting in the waiting room for almost an hour, granted I was kind of a drop in. Still, I would go back to get it done here.

  • I went in to get my oil changed and have my winter tires switched out for my summer tires. I dropped my car off at 8 am and it wasn't ready until 7 pm. They quoted me a price for the wrong tires because they didn't look at my wheels and just assumed they were stock, so by the time they realized their mistake it was too late to get them the same day. That's fine, I was leaving on a road trip in 48 hours but figured they could pull it off. They said they'd call when the tires came in, but never called. It took them about 36 hours to finally tell me to bring my car in because they had the tires, but I only got this information because I called frequently to ask. They did a great job with the tires, it was super fast and my car handles great now, plus they were reasonably priced. Also, they were mocking their Asian customers in front of us, even doing "voices" to mimic the customers they didn't like or respect. It was incredibly insensitive, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I'm not going back again even though I've been going there for years.

  • I brought my car to have my rear-end brakes examined as I recently was hearing some squeaking noises from those tires. The mechanic at your location near downtown Providence explained to me the reasons for the noise and educated me on how rust on my metallic brake pads was causing the noise. They cleaned the dust, free of charge, but also examined my front-end brakes & alerted me that those pads would need to be replaced soon. They offered to do the job the same day for a reasonable cost, which I accepted. I'm so glad they took the time to be pro-active & examine all of the brake pads, as I only asked for the rear-end brakes. Their focus allowed me to be able to have a seamless & safe driving experience.
